There are moments in my life where I live dreams eyes wide open. I was deeply blessed to moderate a dialogue with A. R. Rahman ( @arrahman ) the Academy Award and Grammy-winning composer whose work transcends culture and time. Not just to be in his presence, but to be met by him. With generosity. With humility. With a genuine respect for time, energy, and exchange. I not only entered the room alongside him, then sat with him to witness his creative vision unfold—watching Le Musk, a VR film born from his mind and spirit. It was immersive, expansive, and quietly profound. What made this moment truly unforgettable wasn’t only the work. It was who was there to witness it. My family was there, they saw my work held next to a genius and legend. They saw me in dialogue, in service, in alignment with something larger than myself. They saw me. This year, Human Biography had the honour of serving as the storytelling partner for the 39th Annual Crystal Ball, supporting the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. (@bcchf ) Filming with President & CEO Malcolm Berry, clinical researcher Dr. Tamara Vanderwal, and Gala Co-Chairs Irene DeLucchi (@irene_delucchi ) and Desha Sekhon (@deshasekhon ) was both meaningful and inspiring. We were invited into their world to understand the extraordinary impact of their vision: bringing a state-of-the-art 3T Research MRI to BC Children’s Hospital, a tool that will transform pediatric care and research for decades to come. Big love to our dear friend Sherry Doman (@sherry.doman ) for inspiring us to contribute our talents to this work. Thank you to the board for giving our community an incredible runway for better health outcomes for our children. This year’s Crystal Ball, presented by our friends at @nicolawealth , reflected what can happen when leadership and philanthropy come together with purpose. Together, this community raised an incredible ✨ $6.4 million ✨ to help bring this technology to life.
