study of speed through

while I was playing with the printer and scanner to try some textures on, symon wrote a nice text on his vision of speed and how speed impacts us
here are his words (the end of the text is pinned in the comments):
« At lightning speed, 300,000 km/s, ISO 1600, FKT…
A sporting skill, an artistic vision, or a scientific concept?
Speed is the key element that creates a strong bond between the photographer and the athlete.
It’s the meeting point between the camera’s objective and the athlete’s objective.
For the photographic artist, speed is character, touch, adaptability. Modern techniques have pushed this discipline into a new dimension: today everything is intentionally blurred, whereas yesterday everything was blurred despite us.
Speed — whether shutter speed or sensitivity — is the essential means of expression. It alone dictates the photographer’s style and intent.
For an athlete, improving physical abilities and optimizing the use of every part of the body is the ultimate goal each pursues in their own way. For them, speed is the measuring tool that defines progress and sets targets.
Capturing sport in images, imagining a connection between photographer and photographed, makes sense precisely because of these metaphors. Sport is beautiful, but it can only be shown in its true light when these ideas of speed align, complement each other, and propel — on one side, the image into a new expressive dimension, and on the other, the athletic feat toward a deeper form of illustration.
My relationship with image-makers has always fascinated me: Hugo, Damien, Marco, Mathurin, Mathieu, Andy…
Each brought a new dimension to my athletic practice. Their vision, combined with my physical effort, created meaning — and continues to inspire and shape my perspective. »
