“Heavy Hope” is the title work of my show @moahlancaster . 96”x 112”x96” watercolor and gouache on paper. 2026.
It features quotes about hope carved into the rock. Exploring how to hold the weighty and fragile things each of us carry…You never know what burdens and tremendous beauty another holds. On view through April 19.

An acapela choir performed exquisite songs of hope at the opening of the exhibition. My eyes welled up immediately with tears…such beauty @moahlancaster #heavyhope
“Heavy Hope” my solo exhibition at MOAH Lancaster opened this weekend. What a wonderful reception… with so many engaging conversations and rich connections. I’m still buzzing from the support and love! #art #dreamboats #laddersandlonging #heavyhope @moahlancaster
Yesterday I made the long trip to Lancaster's Museum of Art and History (MOAH) to see Nathan Huff's exhibition, Heavy Hope. Boy, was it worth it. I can't think of another artist who creates such large, beautiful installations that combine this level of intelligence, elegance, whimsy, and grace. It is absolutely worth the drive to see this incredible exhibition in this amazing space.
One last installation teaser for my solo show “Heavy Hope” which opens today at MOAH Lancaster.
Artist reception Saturday (1/31) 12-4pm. I’m really proud of this show and grateful to the team @moahlancaster for making it happen.
Thanks to @art.documents for the video clips.

My solo show “Heavy Hope” opens this Saturday, Jan 31 at MOAH (Museum of Art and History) in Lancaster, CA. Here I am mid installation in the lovely two-story main gallery space.
I wonder how we develop the muscle of hope... not as something trite...but rather as a verb, as an action, as an act. With so much darkness in the world and in this inflection point in our nation, hope is indeed heavy. But it is also substantive, worth looking through and acting for a stubborn insistence that we can be better than this.
The exhibition runs from January 31 - April 19, 2026. I look forward to seeing anyone who can make it there for the opening on Saturday the 31st, 12-4 pm!
The museum is located in downtown Lancaster, 665 W Lancaster Blvd, 93534.
I am one of seven concurrent solo shows for this museum season exploring themes of metaphor. Each show is visually stunning and thoughtfully curated.
