MOAH:CEDAR recently hosted the 41st Annual AVUHSD Student Art Exhibition, bringing together talented student artists, families, educators, and community members for an evening celebrating creativity across the Antelope Valley. 🎨✨
The exhibition featured artwork from high school students throughout the Antelope Valley Union High School District, highlighting a wide range of mediums, styles, and perspectives developed throughout the school year. Students were also recognized during a special awards ceremony honoring excellence in art and creative expression.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support these young artists and help make this longtime community tradition so special. 💫
Be among the first to experience "Eva Aguila: The Foundation of the Harvest / El Cimiento de la Cosecha” at the Opening Celebration on Saturday, May 16, 12 to 4 p.m. On view in the Ralph and Virginia Bozigian Family Gallery at MOAH this Summer.
The exhibition offers a deeply personal and poignant exploration of labor, legacy, and resilience. Through an intimate installation of domestic objects, archival materials, family photographs, and video testimony, Aguila traces the enduring impact of Mexican migrant labor from the Bracero Program to today’s H-2A visa system.
Honoring both the strength of her family and the activism of labor organizers, this exhibition sheds light on stories that continue to shape communities across generations.
This project was supported, in part, by a Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant.
