PRIDE Sunday, June 28. 4pm-10pm
The Nursery @publicrecordsnyc
We’re taking this Ritual outside for Pride. There’s something sacred about house music, outside on a Sunday. Something about how the music moves through our bodies that brings so much collective joy and healing. Join us under the trees and canopy of found family, as we invite three talented artists to help us commemorate why we should be proud to be LGBTQIA+.
This Pride we are reclaiming that feeling together.
Colored Craig is a master when it comes to record selections w/ uplifting vocals that feel like church, like healing and like home. He has made NYC and PR his home for now and we welcome him with open arms.
CTRLZORA DJ/Event Producer born and raised in the birthplace of house music, Chicago Illinois. They’ve worked with the city to help preserve sites like the Warehouse and guest taught classes on Black social and cultural dance. They carry the legacy with the seriousness that only comes from knowing the people who built it.
DOULA is a DJ and multidisciplinary artist from the Bronx!
This is going to be a long weekend of amazing pride parties. House music was born from Black and queer community’s who needed a space to be exactly who they are. How we move, how we acknowledge each other, how we dance and let the music flow through us is an act of remembrance and defiance. Come as you are. Dance like it matters. Because it does.
RITUAL exists to honor that lineage.
Tickets on RA/DICE
If you were caught using GHB/GBL or any actions thereof, you will be asked to leave! This is not the vibe!
in order to cultivate synergy on the dance floor, please be considerate of those that are around you. Our goal is to maintain a heterogeneous, inclusive dance floor. Remember: we thrive when our dancefloor is safe, diverse and a respectful place for all.

Stacey “Hotwaxx” Hale
Baronhawk Poitier
Karim Olen Ash
The Godmother of House Music, DJ Stacey “Hotwaxx” Hale, the first female house music artist in Detroit, produces a mix of dance floor hits and orchestral melodies fused with live music. She has played in prestigious theaters such as the Apollo New York and the Fox Detroit, as well as iconic underground dance music clubs like “Studio 54” and “The Warehouse.” Currently, she has residency at Spotlite Detroit and Marble Bar Detroit in addition to touring internationally.
In the late 80s, Hotwaxx Hale became the first female DJ to spin house music on Detroit radio, an has remained a prominent figure in music curation since then. She blends house and techno with funk, hip hop, and Motown soul to maintain a seamless flow, resulting in a diverse, devoted following of all ages.
Baronhawk Poitier (Washington, D.C.) got his start breakdancing with friends and working at The Record Exchange. He was recognized alongside mentor Kris Klayton aka Karizma/ Kaytronik with a grant from the NEANational Endowment of Arts for electronic music production. Poitier is a member of the queer collective The NeedlExchange “TNX,” who were known for their independent events and raves. He continues to tour as a solo artist while hosting events in DC as a co-creator and resident of the DJ collective “DANCECLUB”.
Karim Olen Ash grew up surrounded by the sounds of the Black diaspora: gospel, reggae, soul, and disco forming the soundtrack of his upbringing. Introduced to DJing through his brother, he learned early that music is both a spiritual and communal force. His sets channel that ethos: deep and euphoric, guided by rhythm and emotion, celebrating the lineage of house and the boldness of ballroom culture.

Happy 1 Yr anniversary to Ritual. Even though this party officially started in Nov, it was conceived in February of last year when I decided to shift my mission to support BIPOC artists. Creating and holding space is what I do best. The foundation of house and dance music comes from Black and Brown communities, yet those artists are often booked less, underpaid, or underrepresented on lineups. Supporting BIPOC Promoters and DJ’s helps correct that imbalance and brings more authenticity, diversity and innovation to the dance floor. It has been a joyous experience and I appreciate all the support.
The way this ALL BLACK FEMALE LINEUP held us in such a powerful, loving way was truly special. They absolutely reigned supreme.

IN CELEBRATION OF BLACK HISTORY
RITUAL in The Atrium & The Sound Room @publicrecordsnyc
Sunday, Feb 15.
4-10 Atrium, 10-2 Sound Room
A Day into Night Offering.
This RITUAL is about the storytelling of house music that serves as a means for connection to the past & community. We have the pleasure to experience the ritualistic conjuring of an amazing line up of four Black Female DJ/Producers.
THE ATRIUM
DJ Minx is often referred to as the First Lady of Wax. Her mix sets as well as her productions range from deep and minimal to boisterous & funky, and she’s earned respect throughout the techno and house scenes.
Dee Diggs is DJ & Recording Artist. She is unapologetically Black, queer and a lifelong student of house music. Dee’s signature sounds: lyrical storied tracks, sensual club edits, soulful realness, sneaky grooves, passionate thumpers and nostalgic endings. The east coast darling bares her soul on these decks. When you hear her, you feel her and there is no mistaking the beauty & grit of this sound and this feeling.
Sound Room 10-2
Livwutang sits within a modern continuum of DJ’s whose sound can’t be contained to one particular style or genre. She instead delvers a distinctively eclectic array of exuberant kinetics, introspective strength & chaotic dexterity to any dancefloor she’s a part of. It’s within this spellbinding maelstorm that she brings a unique & adventrous flare to DJing, constantly reinventing her present surroundings to create innovative glances into the last present & future.
AK is an interdisciplinary artist who brings a heavy hitting rhythm like no other . She dances through her tracks ushering in deep techno kicks, euphoric breaks & seductive vocal cuts guaranteed to make you blush .
Alchemizing out of Detroit MI.
Music is not escape but engagement which preserves memory, demands truth, & makes survival possible without denying pain.
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT:
We encourage you to keep your shirt on. We work to provide a comfortable space for every one of all genders & ethnic groups. If you need to regulate your body temperature, please take a break. Our goal is to maintain a heterogenous, inclusive dance floor.
NO GBH/GBL
My heart is so full of gratitude. Thank you to everyone who came out and brought in the New Year with us. Don’t lose your vision! I’m intuitively guided and grounded by having a spiritual practice. It’s with great reverence that we support those that have come before us. The idea of inviting Mr. Owens to come was prompted by Hosting @dannytenagliaofficial in The Nursery over the summer. When I use to go to tunnel, Danny would play “I’ll Be Your Friend,” and it’s deeply embedded in my mind of how it resonated every time it was played. The feelings it evoked have stuck with me. This summer when Danny played it again, I told myself that I wanted to meet and bring Mr. Owens to Ritual. That vision, like many others, came true. Thank you, @this_is_robert_owens for blessing us with your gifts of songs and wisdom. Providing a platform for expression while honoring our history is essential to me and my mission with this party.
Thank you @ash_lauryn_@coloredcraig@publicrecordsnyc
for being a part of the vision, along with everyone who continues to come out to support and uplift each other. The energy on the dance floor is truly a reverberation of love that permeates our cells and rewires our nervous system.
Cheers to 2026
Happy New Year

HUESTASY Presents: RITUAL
Sunday, Nov 30 @publicrecordsnyc
THE ATRIUM 3pm
Opening the day we have Niyah West. “Artist and DJ Niyah West is here to feel. This NY-based DJ has been rocking dancefloors all over the city and abroad with her heavy house-infused DJ sets. Moving between elements of long, love, joy, sex, and a lot of soul through the guise of different drums, this Jersey-born selectress aims to keep the floor alive. Niyah has been featured across airwaves on NTS, Lot Radio, HKCR and slinging records for some of NYC’s best sound systems.”RA
Keenan Orr has been DJing in Washington DC’s underground dance parties and clubs since the ’90s, including Buzz (DC) at Nation, Red, and Club Five. He co-created SLEAZE, DC’s monthly party, blending the darker sides of disco with forward-thinking techno. Keenan’s Honcho Campout set was light bulb going off for me to bring him on for Ritual. The joy I felt and the connectedness on the dance floor was exactly vibe of where we are headed for our launch.
We welcome Colored Craig back to close us out. “He plays classic house records with a verve and style that you cant’ really teach or learn. You just have to have it.” “Dancer’s first, Dj Second” Craig proudly claims. “Joy on the dancefloor. That’s what I got to offer!”
This is exactly what we are looking for. Come early and settle in.

HUESTASY Presents: RITUAL
Sunday Nov. 30, 3-9 ish ;)
THE ATRIUM @publicrecordsnyc
We created a RITUAL through REVIVAL.
REVIVAL ignited something powerful within us and now we are channeling that energy with intention.
Rituals don’t create power; they direct it. The foundation of House Music was built by Black & Latinx communities in queer liberated spaces. RITUAL centers Black & Brown artists, uniting established and emerging Dj’s to honor the true essence of House Music. Our mission is to unify, liberate and transcend through the sacred space of the dance floor.
We’re gonna GO DEEP & we’re gonna keep it SOULFUL.
To open this next chapter, we welcome back Niyah West, one of the first to grace the decks at REVIVAL. Niyah will open and set the tone of the day. Keenan Orr(DC) will be following Niyah who will be bring that signature DC house energy. Closing the night out, the incomparable COLORED CRAIG returns, whose set powerfully sealed the final chapter of REVIVAL. It’s only right that he helps us set the intentions of what’s to come. Join us as we continue the journey.

There are some people who carry wisdom and light in the way they move through the world, and @reiki_master_hue is one of those people for us. He’s a dear friend, a healer, and an artist who inspires each of us.
For our wedding in June, we asked Hue if he would create the floral arrangements, and what he gave us was beyond anything we could have imagined. Hue chose flowers specifically for who we are and the space we’re trying to create, and brought them together in a way that felt sensual, personal, alive, and deeply intentional.
We wanted to share these stunning images of Hue’s work with the world 💜
On the day of the wedding, he was up before dawn at the flower district, then spent the entire day crafting these stunning arrangements. He brought such beauty and elevated all of us. And our special connection with Hue made it all the more meaningful.
Hue, we love you. We admire you. We are so grateful for this gift! Thank you for your generosity, your energy, and for making our wedding extra special for all of us.
If you’re looking for floral work for something extra special, we can’t recommend Hue enough. ♥️🌺🌸💐 work with Hue!

Happy 1yr Anniversary @animal.nyc
Thank you for giving me the space to create and to help elevate the energy of this Queer owned and operated establishment. It’s in the details that raises the bar on what a space can provide for not only the community but for their staff/family as well.
You are loved and thanks for caring so much!
