Třeba jenom ode mě stále dokola poslouchat to samé dokola… ranec oze, úspory, snížení spotřeby, konec uhlí, spravedlivá transformace, komunitní energetika, ochrana biodiverzity a blablablaa, nuda!

Plenty of photos as well as plenty of emotions still left with me after Eastern European strike + camp. Thank you for making those few days so special and something I’ll remember for a while. For me it was once again a much-needed reminder that having a community besides you while fighting the climate crisis is so vital. People have so much power to actively fight for change — something we did in the past and will continue to do. Plenty of hugs, workshops, conversations, spontaneous meet-ups in Warsaw, walks around Prague and rogals brought all the way from Poznań were just a small part of memories made in Prague. Keep in mind that good memories can help us push through our worst days. Once more, thank you all so much for everything. You’re my family and I’m grateful to be fighting for a better future with all of you.🤍 Side note: Until next meeting we need to improve our traditional Hungarian dancing skills. Hundreds of protesters gathered in Prague's Old Town Square at noon on Friday 21st October 2022, where the Eastern European Climate Strike took place. They were demanding that politicians confront the current energy and climate crisis. They used the Eastern European Climate Strike to highlight the problems that the energy crisis is causing, not only in the Czech Republic but also in other countries that are connected to Putin's gas, which are mainly those in Eastern Europe. We are facing a difficult winter, many of us have to suffer because of energy poverty. Political leaders will be soon traveling to Egypt for the COP27 climate conference, where they will once again promise how we will tackle all the current crises. But empty words will not solve neither the energy crisis, nor the climate crisis. We need to start fighting the common culprit, and that is fossil fuels. We must act now. We do not want fossil fuels, we want thermally insulated buildings, renewable energy resources and help for those who need it. "Your empty lies won't save lives!" Speakers on the strike were people from the Czech Republic and abroad: Kareem Taha from Egypt, Matyáš Dynka and Emma Novotná from the Czech FFF, Nox Kubar from FFF Ukraine and Agáta Hrdličková from Sdruženy, who spoke about the recent murder of two queer people in Slovakia. #fridayaforfuture #fridaysforfutureeurope

Your empty lies won't save lives🔥 . Together on the streets of Prague with activists from Eastern European. Put lives over fossils. We don't need more gas, coal and oil. We need more renewables, more heat pumps, more insulated homes and more public transport. Just transition now. I’m still processing everything that happened this week at @climatesocialcamp and trying to find right words for it. So many great emotions, open-minded people and the climate space which I always love the most. Even though travelling by trains was stressful on it’s own, but the entire experience was worth it. Seeing so many of my friends whom I haven’t seen for months, meeting people I have only known online and fostering new connections with people I’ve never met before felt so special. This just proves my point that climate community for me is personally a favourite place to be. Finding ways to make the entire movement work better, growing my knowledge on the climate crisis in general, networking with activists from all around the world, getting the Eastern European voices heard by everyone at the meeting and bringing my own Lithuanian perspective was so, so, so amazing and something I’ll remember for a very long time. Only by working together, collaborating, listening to each other and practising transparency we can make the entire movement better and more inclusive. It’s important to reflect on everything we’ve heard during the meeting and apply it on a national and local scale. So thankful for everything that happened and everyone whom I met. It’s something I’ll surely remember for a very long time and I’m hoping that we’ll see each other soon again. <3 Last, but not least kocham ludzi z MSK, because Polish activists will always have a special place in my heart. Side note: Travelling with Interrail pass was a stressful experience, but also extremely fun due to all the places you get to see and even people you get to meet. Giving shoutout to Gijs, Stijn, Luc + Maja for being part of the experience. If you want to travel through Europe, it’s the best way to go. ;)

Ukrainians usually prefer not to use the slogan "NO WAR" due to some nuances of it. Nonetheless, we do appreciate your huge support and solidarity❤️

📢 We are launching our new series of posts dedicated to our activists and their experience in climate activism during the war. 🇺🇦 Today, we are going to talk about Ihor Sumliennyi, the FFF Ukraine regional coordinator. All this time, he has been staying in Kyiv working with journalists and showing foreign activists what war looks like. Swipe left to read his story. #ukraine #climatechange #climatecrisis #EndFossilsAndWars #livesoverfossils
