@queenbeedjs fly home for their monthly showcase of female and gender diverse vinyl DJs to
@thehivebar this Friday 27 February.
Letās meet the Queens lighting up the booth this month:
@hotflushdj is bringing the mood changes and night sweats to the pelvic (dance) floor!
Known primarily as a photographer of music, culture and fashion, Liz Hamās lifelong love of music has seen her DJ tunes alongside exhibitions, events and club nights.
Liz has obsessively amassed both digital and vinyl formats for over three decades, her collection spanning genres such as disco, glam, garage rock, new wave, punk, post punk, exotica, indie, psych, world and electronica - originating from anywhere between the 50ās and today.
Next up we have the legendary
@milky_tea_dj behind the decks. One of our founding members, Milky Tea is a collector and selector with a crate that spans soul, funk, Latin, afro, reggae and bass heavy sounds from around the world. Her sets are known for jumping across decades, genres, and time zones - always keeping the vibe fresh!
Her ever-evolving collection reflects a curiosity for new sounds and a love of sharing music that brings people together on the dancefloor.
Our third Queen,
@jane_fondu serves everything from edgy dance tunes to loungey soul, with a penchant for the lesser-heard, and a soft spot for sparkling 80s disco. Her sets are always eclectic; you could find her playing lush house in a wine bar, post-punk at a pub or electronica at a dance party. Fondu hosts āThe Weekly Meltdownā every Saturday on 2SER radio. She has held regular gigs and residencies throughout Melbourne, Montreal, and now Sydney, bringing her fans a unique selection of innovative indie releases and precious old-school gems.
