🎬 It’s been a busy few weeks here at Hoot working across some brilliant podcast, TV, and film projects — and we’re excited to show you a bit of what’s been going on behind the scenes. In this clip, we’re pulling together an edit for one of our latest podcast video productions. ▶️ Using a Blackmagic Design Multiview 16, we synced 3 ISO camera feeds with 3 mic WAVs recorded in Pro Tools — all aligned with a good old-fashioned clap. Everything is then multigrouped in Avid Media Composer, which gives us the flexibility to build the edit quickly based on who’s speaking. 🎥 Camera cuts follow the speaker, and any slip-ups or edits are disguised using the wide shot. Once the full cut is assembled, we upload it to Frame.io for client review and notes. 🎧 After that, it’s over to Pro Tools for the dub — and here’s where Media Composer’s ‘Export to Pro Tools’ feature really shines. EXCITING! Big ol’ thank you to @hootstudiosuk for pouring so much time, work, foley and fun into the sound mix for our latest short film from @splonkcomedy - TIME’S UP, I’M AFRAID. We knew to match all the work and play of all the talented friends who came together to shoot this film last year AND then match the silly level of production value (especially considering the lack of budget!)…we needed a mix to match. Oh boy, this one feels, in a lot of ways, like our first ever proper lil movie-film (and not just because I’m not in it!). Was great yesterday seeing the power of a mix in making jokes land and beats hit- cheers to Rhys and the whole Hoot team. It's been a pleasure working with the team at @redmountain_films on this feature documentary about Olympiacos football club in their centenary year.
