Last Friday, we sponsored a table for the annual Junior Achievement Serving Decatur/Monroe Purse Bingo, and some of our employees joined the event. Although some of our employees who attended had no luck at winning a purse, they still had a great night at the community event!
On March 22nd we suffered a heartbreaking loss in the Hoosier Pattern family. Ron Cox worked in our benching and rigging department for 18 years before retiring in December 2023.
Ron loved the patternmaker trade and worked in it for nearly 50 years, carrying a vast knowledge of the foundry industry. It wasn't surprising to see Ron working on a Saturday after a full week of work or working part-time at Core Tech, he worked at Cole Pattern for 32 years before joining Hoosier Pattern. After retirement, he continued to come in and work part-time when he could.
Ron was also incredibly kind to everyone who stopped to talk to him and was always willing to help others. He enjoyed teaching the art of patternmaking and was generous with his time and talents.
His loss is felt throughout the shop, and to remember him, we had a catered lunch with Ron's wife, children, and family members, as well as previous Hoosier Pattern employees and former co-workers from Core-Tech. We spent the lunch remembering Ron and the impact he had.
Today we had a quarterly March Madness themed luncheon with wings, sliders, meatballs, meat and cheese trays from Goeglien's Catering as well as cookies from Sorrina's Bakery
This morning we had a first-of-the-year carry-in brunch for all the employees. We want to thank everyone who brought in items and our maintenance team for making the French toast before the brunch!
Reminder! We will be putting the castings away in storage until the fall tomorrow afternoon. If you or someone you know needs to pick their casting up stop by this afternoon or tomorrow morning!
We have many castings that need to be picked up remaining at our facility. We will leave them up until next Thursday July 3rd. If they have not been picked up by then we will put them away in storage until school starts again in early August and if yours is one completed through school you will need to pick them up from your teacher from last year. If you or anyone you know of still has to pick up their casting please share with them this information!
We want to thank everyone for attending the 3rd Annual Pattern Pour last Friday! We had an excellent turnout and the weather thankfully held out for most of the evening. After the first tap, we poured 619 scratch molds in just over four hours. We tapped the Cupola 22 times and poured around 5,500 pounds of iron!
This event would not be possible without our donors, sponsors, Hoosier Pattern employees, the artists from @felion_studios , @evolutionartstudio , @krlmetals.artstudio who took the time to travel to our facility to help us with this event, and everyone who participated in creating a scratch tile.
We are set up and ready for tomorrow's 3rd Annual Pattern Pour! We want to let everyone know that we will be opening up the grass area South of our complex for parking this year. You can access this area from Dayton St. We will still have our main lot off of 10th St next to our building open for parking. We can't wait to see everyone!
