DATE/LOCATION: MARCH 14, 2026 @UVA O’Hill Forum from 3-8pm.
BATTLE REGISTRATION: Required for EVERYONE to check in at the door before competing regardless of online or in-person registration. Format is 3v3, sign up with a trio or we can make groups for you. Check-in is open from 3-3:30, If your trio isn’t checked in by 3:30 you won’t be able to compete.
ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION: Located in our instagram bio. $8 online, or $10 at the door. Prices are per person, not by team.
CRAZIEST COMMANDO AWARD: We are trying something new this year, pull up with your craziest commandos to get a chance to win.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR MARCH 14TH‼️We are excited to announce the 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF BREAKING GROUNDS🔥 Get ready for UVA’s biggest hiphop event, featuring sick 3v3 battles, exciting cyphers, great vibes, and breakers from across the east coast!
The event will be held on March 14, 2026 at UVA’s O’Hill Forum at 525 McCormick Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22904.
REGISTRATION DETAILS: Doors will OPEN at 3pm and registration will CLOSE at 3:30pm – Register early with the LINK IN BIO until MARCH 13 ($8 ONLINE, $10 AT THE DOOR)
NOTE: Even if you register early, you will have to check-in at the door day-of before 3:30pm, so don’t be late!
BATTLE FORMAT: In honor of Breaking Ground’s long legacy, we are doing a throwback to the first BG and running 3v3 breaking battles, 1 round each breaker until semifinals. Open to ALL experience levels!

We want to thank everyone who helped organize the event, our sponsors, dj, mc, judges, photographers, videographers, dancers, breakers and everyone for spreading the love of dance. Moments like this remind us of the community we have built. This jam was something special because of you. From the cyphers to the 3v3 battles to the community love, it reminded us why we do this in the first place.
Grateful for every moment, every connection, and every person who made it unforgettable.
