Sign-ups are now OPEN to join HOME’S Young Artists Studio Programme in June!
HOME are looking for eight more young artists aged 14 - 17 years old to take part in this year’s programme. The 12-month programme will include practical visual arts workshops, open studio sessions and the opportunity to meet and work with practicing artists and industry professionals.
Participants will also visit exhibitions and galleries, meet with the Visual Arts team and create a group exhibition in HOME’s Inspire Gallery.
As a part of this project, you will learn about curation, installation, studio working and much more as you are mentored through the exhibition process from start to finish.
The Young Artists Studio takes place on Wednesday evenings (6pm–8pm). New starters will join their first session on Wed 3 Jun at 6pm at HOME.

Our programme is open to all young people aged 14-17. We are currently especially encouraging applications from boys and male-identifying young people.
We have a bursary available to eligible young people to cover the cost of travel to sessions.

ARTIST CALLOUT 🎨
HOME and @comartsnw are commissioning an artist to create an original new artwork for exhibition during this year’s Horizons Festival! The Artwork can be created in any 2D medium, such as Illustration or Painting, which will be reproduced at large scale and showcased on the exterior of HOME’s building for up to 6 weeks.
To be eligible, you must have lived experience of displacement or seeking sanctuary. Please see other eligibility requirements and further information on our website.

This term Young company had the amazing experience of spending two weeks working with Kevin Egan from @recklesssleepers and @mst_acting . They explored his work around the notion of scored theatre and the appropriation of musical discourse as a compositional tool in theatre practice.
Are you aged 14 - 18? Looking to build new skills, gain real backstage experience, and understand how theatre really works?
Check out the NT Connections Technical Theatre Programme, a free opportunity to gain real-world technical theatre experience!
Participants will explore lighting, sound, stage management and production, before putting their new skills into practice by helping to tech part of a performance that will take place during the Connections Festival at HOME from Mon 20– Thu 23 Apr.
The programme includes one online session followed by two full days of hands-on training with industry professionals on Tue 14 and Wed 15 Apr.

Horizons Festival is an annual multi-arts festival with @comartsnw that champions, empowers and honours global majority voices, with a focus on those experiencing migration and displacement.

Early career Visual Artist call out!
To coincide with the launch of Queer Up North 1992-2002: Celebrating Manchester’s LGBTQ+ Heritage digital archive, we're commissioning one early career visual artist to respond to selected material from the archive, culminating in an exhibition in our Granada Foundation Galleries!
Over the course of three months, the selected artist will respond to selected archive material through their own artistic visual arts-based practice, to produce a new body of work for public exhibition.
