“Blindboy” a painting of @blindboyboatclub , made with acrylic on canvas board. Reference photo was a portion of an image by photographer Alan Price. Swipe for a bunch of my thoughts from after I started the painting + some lore.

“Restored” this last year and never posted it. Swipe for the before and after!! It was very faded from UV exposure so I first used google lens to get an idea of what it would have looked like before it faded. I basically just recoloured it with acrylic paint mixed with a glaze medium, acrylic paint markers and at the end I used a varnish on it that will (hopefully) protect it from fading again. I had no idea what I was doing but it worked out alright :-)
“Sleepwalking: Part 1” acrylic on canvas, 2nd slide is the original reference photo, 3rd slide shows size of painting next to a teaspoon.
Two unopened cans of beans in a pan with a teaspoon from the sink on the hob (which was turned off). Living with a sleepwalker, I have accumulated a few interesting photos of what @piksies leaves around the apartment in her sleep. This is the first of two paintings based on Jay’s sleepwalking, the second of which I haven’t started yet, but as Jay blesses us with more artistic setups in her sleep I intend continue the collection. 🫶🏼 💤 #acrylicpainting #irishartist
Posted this yesterday thinking it was done but felt like something was missing, all it needed was an AAAAAAAAAHHH.

If the sun was god I’d be covered in faith,
If the ocean was the devil I’d be covered in hate.
In memory of Ryan. We used to both like this song a lot, he had a line of it as his bio on one of his social media accounts for years - “but pretty isn’t everything, right?”
I’ve talked a lot about him the past few days, it’s been comforting to listen to the music we bonded over 10 years ago. I stopped listening to it around the same time we lost touch. He passed away 6 years ago and I didn’t find out about his passing until a year after he had died. I only recently found out what happened to him. I started painting this a couple of days later. I am spending a lot of time just being grateful for the friendship we had, he was always there on the other end of the phone for the years we were friends. He had such a positive impact on my life. I’m grateful I knew him for the short time he was here.
I started this painting in August of last year and gave up on it, but a couple of weeks ago I finally committed to finishing it and I’m really happy with how it turned out!! 💓☠️ #irishartists #artist #artistofinstagram #skullart #acrylicpaintingoncanvas
Another one that I never posted a finished version of, portrait of Mr Pickles, painted in September 2023 🐱 #irishartistsofinstagram #irishartist #acryliconcanvas
“Deconstruction” acrylic on canvas, inspired by and based on a sculpture by @skelementalart called “The Madness”.
I painted this in March 2024 but never got around to posting it bc I wasn’t happy with certain elements of it, so I put it away and suddenly a year passed, picked it up again and realised I was being overly critical and I’m happy with it. 5” x 7” acrylic portrait of Smudge. Second slide is the painting scanned, third is the final result after framing. I got Smudge as a kitten during my junior cert year in 2014, he was an indoor cat but later appointed himself to the role of farm cat and despite our efforts he stuck with it. When my parents split up we left him on the farm with my dad and the dogs because we assumed Smudge was so used to life on the farm it would be too stressful and dangerous for him to move from the middle of nowhere in the countryside to a house on the main road in a town. Long story short, the next time my mum saw Smudge was almost a year after moving and she noticed how skinny and dirty he was, and how thrilled he was to see her. She scooped him up and put him in the car and took him home with her without a second thought. He immediately relaxed into his new role from retired farm cat to a pampered house cat. Smudge now lives with my granny who opened up her home to give him a second chance at life and I’m happy to report he’s spoiled rotten. I painted this as a gift for my granny. 🫶🏼 #acrylicpainting #irishartist
