No better time to finally post some pics from your last time in Colombia than when you’re on your way back there… Film snaps from Oct-Dec last year around Huila, Santa Marta, Quindio. You’re in for a treat if you make it to the last one. Agradecida por la primera ronda, aún más por la segunda que viene 🥹

That’s time on my 3 months in Colombia, Brazil and Argentina. I have no idea where to start with processing some of the most beautiful, rich and life-changing months of my life but I think gratitude is always a winner so this post is to honour, thank and celebrate the people who made this trip so darn special. There are so many more people (and dogs) to thank than I can fit into a 20 pic carousel, and from the looks of it I’m most grateful to my denim and beige shirts, but if I’ve met you in the last few months, know that you have impacted me deeply. Thank you for opening your homes, farms, labs, lives, tables and hearts to me. Gracias and obrigada for your time, your wisdom, for the things you’ve taught me and the care you’ve shown me. Grateful doesn’t cut it really but it’s the only word I’ve got right now. Con mucho amor y ganas de volver inmediatamente. Con muito amor e vontade de voltar imediatamente. 🥹🥰🫶🇨🇴🇧🇷🇦🇷 Pictured but couldn’t tag: @kaji_coffee @sharith_sofiaa @tatianapete_08 @hello_judges @siecafecol @chapolera_cafe @manuelcelym @laura_diaz862

SIC snaps. Super daunting going to @semanainternacionaldocafe knowing absolutely no one and speaking very minimal Portuguese. But I came away with new exciting connections, a brain full of ideas and a more comprehensive Portuguese coffee vocabulary. These few days were a celebration of Brazilian specialty coffee. With producers from near and not so near (we’re talking Brazil, after all) showcasing some of the finest this rich and diverse country has to offer. It was a privilege to cup new kinds of coffees, try my palate at a little SCA-led coffee value assessment workshop, stumble upon an impromptu Brazilian folk sing-along, meet so many fascinating and knowledgeable people and come away with some nice new coffee merch. I didn’t however take many photos with people in them, so I’m grateful to @eng.victor_crisostomo and @leonardo_segurosbh for sharing 🙏

And here she goes with her first reel…which took all of, what’s that, one whole week to make? 🙄 Aaanyyway, highlights from my first weekend in Colombia attending @expocafepitalito to begin my coffee learning and coffee connection journey… Here were a few of my favourite moments: - Conversations over a delightful gesha @laselva_coffee with caficultores (coffee producers) @guzmanelkin , @fabian.murcia.9615 and @dianiizdeviia - Cheering on @enelmundodelukas and @sebas_jarras as they competed in the junior Filtrado (V60 Brewers) and Latte Art Competitons (huge congrats Sebas y @marianauja on your win👏) - Meeting a bunch of excellent new people including all the above, as well as caficultores @deirogarciaa from @fincaanaya , @hoyosfranky and @laura_diaz862 from @elencanto_coffee , exporters Pierre and Catalina from @cataexport , and green coffee buyer, Thomas from @dakcoffeeroasters Full brain 🤯Corazón contento 🥰I have never so quickly felt at home in a brand new place, experienced such warmth and hospitality, nor met people so passionate and so open to share and teach all they know and live out. — Specialty coffee, coffee translation, Colombian Coffee, Café de Colombia #cafédecolombia #translation #specialtycoffee #expocafepitalito

Today is International Coffee Day, and yesterday was International Translation day…so this feels like a pretty perfect moment to introduce myself as this is where my two worlds collide and what this page is all about 🌎☕️ The name’s Holly (Hol, Hols, Holy, or anything to that effect). I’m a freelance translator & interpreter working from Spanish, Italian & French to English, and English language editor, proofreader, and forever student of all things coffee. I’ve been working alongside @fuellingthebold_ over the last 9 months, getting to know more about the coffee industry here in the UK. But that was only the beginning and now I’m heading to South America to continue my education, attend industry events in Colombia and Brazil, and hopefully meet many new coffee friends along the way🤗 I hope to use this space to share what I’m learning in real time and create new connections in the industry as I combine my love of people, languages, coffee and seeing the world. Thanks for joining me and maybe see you out there! Happy International Coffee Day and International Translation Day! ¡Feliz Día Internacional del Café y Día Internacional de la Traducción! #internationalcoffeeday #internationaltranslationday #coffee #coffeecommunity #specialtycoffee #languageservices #languageofcoffee #cafesdobrasil #cafesdecolombia #coffeeculture #coffeeroasters #translation #translatorlife #interpreter #traducción
