We did a lovely 8 course dinner with drink pairing this weekend. As usual I had my amazing sous chef @chef_dekunle making everything easy and @somunachino came through to help prep and we had a great time!

Still on trying out savoury things with Quaker Oats. I onced tried to make a shrimp and grits type of dish with Oats and while the taste was great there was something about it that I just couldn’t deal with. Today I realized that it was the texture. I had made the oatmeal too loose and runny. So I made this thicker and richer. Cooked the @quaker oats in stock and topped it with spicy ofada. It was so good! Oats doesn’t always have to be sweet guys!

Most times when I think of @quaker oats I think about doing a sweet application, pancakes, cookies, smoothies but I am really happy I decided to try this morning and made Quaker oats flatbread! I simply mixed 70 grams of all purpose flour, 30 grams of Quaker oats, 70 grams of water, 5 grams salt and 5 grams of moringa leaves, kneaded till I got an elastic dough, rolled it out and cooked it on both sides for about 45 seconds each.
Used it to scoop up some yummy beans and it was amazing! Who wants to try this?

I love breakfast foods though and these @quaker oats pancakes are one of my easiest breakfast for dinner recipes. They come together fast, taste great and for some reason they make me feel fancy. Top them with some butter and honey, dinner is set! Rayne puts all sorts of berries and syrups on her pancakes but I like them simple. How do you eat your pancakes?
