HIDDEN BEHIND X TIME welcomes artists from Bogota to Oud-Charlois for a summer’s night of Live Cumbia @timeisthenewspace , with appearances by Los Dooombiamberos and T.E.C.A., supporting Conjunto Media Luna and La Pinche Tefi. Conjunto Media Luna Musician and Producer Iván Medellín draws inspiration from accordion cumbia melodies of Colombia's Montes de María region and the contemporary sounds that have been forming over almost 60 years in Bogotá, Monterrey, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, and California. His sonic exploration led Iván to venture into a solo format that draws on electronics and accordion. The Ensemble of Cultural Approximation (TECA) Based between Amsterdam and Rotterdam, TECA delivers an authentic sound that they have coined "Shroombia”, a high-energy blend heavily inspired by various connotations of Latin American musical idioms, reinterpreted with a snappy, dreamy, and sometimes raw contemporary edge. DOOOMBIAMBEROS In the name of the Great Cumbia Lord Landero, sacrifice your inner organs through the trembling roar of dooombia! …inspired by cumbia rebajada, the Dooombiamberos are in search of a heavy sound meant to expel all oppressive spirits that inhabit La Madre Tierra. An experimental cumbia trio - using various live instruments, drones and loops - consisting of Cinema Colombiano-founders Mitze Apocalipze and Chucho Vinilo, as well as ‘the Scientist’ Dada Phone: 2/3rd Colombian, 100% cumbia fanatics! Join the procession, embrace your dooom. La Pinche Tefi Stephanie Ascanio, aka La Pinche Tefi will be spinning vinyl in between acts. As a selector, her style is rooted in tropical rhythms from Latin America, with cumbia as its central axis, and connections to funk, Latin soul, boogaloo, and psychedelic rock. HIDDEN BEHIND X TIME VOL. 17 - MYL + THE VONKS Keeping the groove for this edition at TIME. We will celebrate two eclectic six-piece bands that’ll surely make the space feel like a late-night jazz lounge. These two acts came to us as a tip from our friends at De Niuewe Lichting, who have graciously helped the HIDDEN X TIME program with equipment and good energy since the beginning. Be sure to join us for this live night and remember beers are €2.5 all night on Thursday nights. MYL A six-piece band from Rotterdam that captivates listeners with their energetic fusion of jazz, hip-hop, house, and afrobeat. This combination of genres results in a fresh and compelling sound that feels both familiar and surprising, packed with catchy melodies and strong solos. MYL’s live shows are a celebration, inviting the audience to let go, dance, and simply enjoy the moment—like crashing the instrumental afterparty of Ezra Collective and Mac Miller. THE VONKS A six-piece funk and groove fusion band from Arnhem that combines the funk and fusion of the 1970s and 1980s with modern grooves and fresh ideas. HIDDEN BEHIND X TIME VOL.16 - REDWOODS [EP RELEASE] This 16th volume at TIME is co-curated as celebration for the release of “A Mirage” by local producer, radio-maker and DJ, REDWOODS, who will be debuting her post-club live performances. Joined alongside Son Of, Kovač FM, RAVEN, who will contribute with live sets of Drone, Ambient and other live electronic genres. BEER IS €2,50, PULL UP REDWOODS Portuguese music artist, producer and DJ based in Rotterdam. She is the founder of the label Below The Waves, where she released her debut album Rapture in late 2024. Her music moves through a shadowy, dissonant sonic landscape, combining bass-heavy production with ethereal synths and gritty 808-driven rhythms. Her sound blends leftfield electronic and dance genres, moving into experimental and ambient territories. She now marks the release of her new EP “A Mirage” with a live performance built around the project. Son Of (NL, MLT) crafts a strain of electronic music that navigates the outer zones of unconventional Detroit electro and UK experimentalism, embracing both minimalism and entropy. Through his label Digital Empathy, and releases like No Evil In Me and Infinity to 1, he continues to refine his sinister futurism aesthetic. For this night Son Of will be leaning into his more haunting ambient material inspired by his acclaimed debut release Social Zombies on Opal Tapes in 2015. Kovač FM makes live sets that flow between ambient spheres, industrial electronics, and heavily processed recitals. Experimental sound design becomes one with processed poetry, a.k.a. mutated spells that will haunt your ears at night. They are mainly a producer, but also a DJ and a radio host with occasional writing outbursts. Based between Rotterdam and Slovenia.
