DĂčndĂșn means âsweet soundâ in Yoruba. We journey with master craftsman Hassan Ayanyemi as he makes the dĂčndĂșn from scratchâa talking drum renowned for its ability to mimic the human voice, a centuries-old staple of West African culture which can now be found in the diaspora from Brazil to Cuba. Through Ayanyemiâs craft passed down to him from a 15 century old lineage of drum makers, DĂčndĂșn reveals the profound communion between nature and spirit, exploring how the drum becomes a bridge to the sacred as it echoes the rhythms of life.

I genuinely love NGOs and volunteering. When I came across @letsgive.foundation , I immediately texted @nazeerahhh___ because I wanted to come on board and support with what I do best storytelling through visuals. My love for children and giving back inspired me to help document this Christmas outreach, showing the beautiful work being done in the community and the lives of children around Surulere.
