14 years feels like a long time but it absolutely was not enough. You were such an insanely precocious, precious, inquisitive, smart and smart alecky, sweet little man. Your big eyes held so much love in them. You were dealt a pretty shit health card in life, especially in recent years, but I hope I made that time as special and comfortable as possible. I first took you out to brunch in June of 2011 while fostering you, and knew pretty immediately that it was permanent. I’m glad we found each other at the shelter that day. I’m glad my roommates at the time decided it was okay for you to come live with us too, because we all had some amazing times together. We shared a lot of memories over 14 years, a lot of homes together, a lot of car rides, treats (and ruined trash cans and litter boxes) and I wouldn’t trade it for a damn thing. I’m so happy you gave CC a safe place to live when we found her, and were the perfect big brother. You were then a perfect roommate to Hazel. We couldn’t have dreamed it would go as perfect as moving in together did. You loved a good pillow, especially when that pillow was CC, or my leg. You had the best ears, especially when there was a treat near. Squeeze your furry friends a little bit extra today for me. Owen passed peacefully on Thursday night. Thank you to anyone who ever showed him love, took care of him while I was away on jobs or on tour, or let him get his hair all over your jeans when he rubbed into them. He’ll be in this heart of mine forever. I could never say enough or post enough pictures to truly show how special this little man truly was. It’s taken several attempts to even make this post, because that makes it more real. Owen forever.

Went to Alaska. It was pretty cool. First 8 pics on Ilford HP5; Next 2 on Svema 64 (expired in 1992). Gear nerd shit: Used a 3d Printed Adapter to turn my Texas Leica (Fuji GSW690iii) into a TexPan, making it capable of shooting panoramic 35mm + onto the sprockets. Wanted to bring a fully mechanical and fully manual camera, because I was worried about the weather conditions, and I’m so glad I brought this and so pumped with some of these results. #fuji #hp5 #mediumformat #alaska #filmphotography
