Have you ever been to the bookstore nestled in the redwoods of Big Sur that holds the Henry Miller Library? If you have, you know the weaved sticks that play with the sun as you walk under them. I carried my 5 paperbacks as the sun danced on them with pride as I brought my babies to the shop. Stopped to pet the shop doggo. Then continued on to place my 5 signed copies on the Big Sur table — because I finished writing this book at Nepenthe, right up the road (the locals make me feel like a local). You dream of this day as an author. And here I am, living my best life, dropping books off at cute bookstores nestled in the trees. You dream of this day as an author. And here I am, living my best life, dropping books off at cute bookstores nestled in the trees. If you get one of these copies, please message me. I want to know you! Am I Changed? — available on Amazon #friendshipofthetravelingbook #amIchanged #fyp #authorsofig #instabook & only at Henry Miller Library

Friends! Strangers! Lovers! All! Join us for another Indigo Community Dye Day in Big Sur. Hosted on the Summer Solstice, this is an immersive afternoon of indigo dyeing, community engagement, and textile renewal. Rooted in sustainability and slow craft, this gathering invites you to bring well-loved garments back to life through the transformative process of natural indigo dyeing. Faded whites, stained linens, sun-worn cottons, and forgotten pieces are all welcome, honoring the beauty of reimagining what already exists. Together, we’ll explore the art of indigo dyeing in community: layering color, texture, and process into garments that carry history, memory, and everyday use. Every piece emerges entirely one of a kind! No experience necessary, simply bring natural fiber clothing or textiles you’d like to renew and a few items below. When: June 21 2026 1:00 to 4:00 PM Henry Miller Memorial Library 📍 48603 CA-1, Big Sur, CA 93920 Do I have to RSVP? Yes. Sign up and donation link in bio! @bigsurpodcast episode #119 is live at bigsurpodcast.org ! In "Walking Toward the Stars," Magnus chats with Brita Ostrom — longtime Esalen resident and author of Steeped: A Big Sur Elixir of Sulfur and Sage. Brita’s life bridges several revolutions at once: the islands of the Pacific Northwest, the Haight-Ashbury explosion of 1966–67, the psychedelic and political turbulence of the Summer of Love, and the early, formative years of the Esalen Institute....listen to the whole thing!
