Railyard Apartments | Core Tops Out at 85.07m
The concrete core for the Railyard Apartments in Cork topped out last week at 85.07m - 25 storeys and close to its final height.
PJ Hegarty & Sons and Slipform Engineering worked continuously for 11 days to take the core from ground level to top, averaging 8 metres per day using slipform construction methodology. 244 concrete deliveries, 1,632m³ of concrete placed, climbing 2.5m every 7 hours.
When completed, this will be the tallest residential building in Ireland. A major achievement for Cork and everyone involved in delivering this project.
Watch the timelapse below of what it's like for 60 workers on alternating shifts to work for 11 days straight, day and night.

Portlaoise GAA Club | Redevelopment
We are proud to support @portlaoisegaa Club on the redevelopment of their club facilities, generously supported by Maryse and Travis Knight in commemoration of Maryse's beloved brother and nephew, Eoin and Dylan Fitzpatrick, who tragically lost their lives in a road traffic accident in Turkey in July 2023.
This redevelopment is about community, legacy and creating a space where future generations can come together, grow and thrive.
Our work includes local architecture, interiors and assigned certifier services, and involves working in close collaboration with the @olsonkundig team in realising their vision for this special project.
We are grateful to have the opportunity to contribute to a project that celebrates the lives of Eoin and Dylan and supports the continued strength and spirit of Portlaoise GAA Club.

Official Opening | RCSI, 118 St Stephen's Green
118 St Stephen’s Green officially opened yesterday, with Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Minister James Lawless in attendance.
Project Connect is a landmark academic building redefining the civic presence of the @rcsi_irl on St. Stephen’s Green. It has been a privilege to work on this significant development, building on our previous collaboration at 26 York Street.
The building establishes a contemporary front door to the RCSI campus, seamlessly connected to the existing award-winning facility via a bridge link. It brings together state-of-the-art teaching spaces, advanced research laboratories, and Ireland’s first free public health and wellbeing exhibition space - supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals.
A truly collaborative effort with an exceptional team: RCSI, Henry J Lyons Architects, Linesight, O'Connor Sutton Cronin, Axiseng, and Bennett (Construction) Ltd.

Claremont | Howth
A derelict industrial site at Howth's coastal gateway now provides 512 homes, a 325-metre elevated promenade and riparian parkland that opens the waterfront back to the community.
Six residential blocks step down towards the village, capturing sea views and natural light. The deculverted Bloody Stream now forms a planted corridor - reconnecting people to spaces that had been inaccessible for generations.
Hand-laid brickwork and marine-grade materials respond to the coastal environment.

Christmas Evening | Royal Hospital Kilmainham
Our Christmas event is a night we always look forward to, and this year brought over 200 colleagues from both studios together at The Royal Hospital Kilmainham. We always try to host our Christmas events in spaces of architectural significance we can truly appreciate, and the Great Hall and Chapel at RHK was no doubt the perfect setting for dinner, drinks, and dancing late into the night.
Merry Christmas to all!
