gonna be honest i have never been as challenged by a record as i was with this one and you know why?? theres no reference point! these mfs have achieved completely uncharted sonic territory PLUS the bow on top is that as unexpected as it is, you don’t question it. it makes total sense. feels like that shit is one in a million these days. i am completely honored and super stoked to have been able to do this with these guys, and now share it with everyone. everybody in this band is so rad and brings SUCH different, unique, and authentic things to the table, and that’s really what makes them so special. truly is something to behold.

the why not record maaannnn what a ride. been waiting to say something about this because i’m quite sure my words won’t do the work i want em to. feeling eternally grateful to everyone who put in their stars to make this thing shine. it really feels like what we’ve been working towards since the why not boys first ever touched the instruments in the same room whether we knew it or not. no lie making this record SOLD me on music in a way i never thought possible. I absolutely fell in love with all the aspects of creation and songwriting and production and truly saw every step of getting from zero to one hundred in the most honest intuitive ways. Life altering stuff for real. never will be the same. josh, isaac, caleb i love you guys in a way you will never know. gonna remember these and those times for the rest of infinity. to whoever is reading this it would mean tons to me if you gave it a listen - this record has our brains and souls engraved in its roots and its cool to know you all can consume it for the first time and i will never have that power so please do it for me. thank you from all of us. cant wait to do the next one.

VERY WHY NOT is out and in the world. can’t believe it. first why not PROJECT I’ve taken the helm on. we went to isaacs farm at the beginning of september and I immediately broke my phone so wasn’t able to document too much of it, but we wrote all but one of the songs in 5 days and then finished everything before the month was over. can’t even believe it now. I was literally going CRAZY lol. but I’ve never been more proud of us and our stellar friends. @papambye_@lupin@mrkhanfident@alexkimball.jpg@vlushairlines you guys all rule thank you for everything. @normalparents on the mix, caleb has pushed me from the getgo to just take charge of this shit and for that I’m endlessly grateful. and of course @alecness on the master with his discreet and powerful magic.
