Hey everyone, for 5+ years I’ve made an effort to share as much of the music I work on as possible here. This is because: a) I was trusted to work on these projects and I stand behind everything I choose to work on.
b) To me the value of art isn’t determined by commercial success and although I’m hired for working on recognizable albums I don’t value ~only~ those works for their success.
That being said my capacity for spending time on social media has decreased greatly and I find it difficult to keep up with the velocity of released music, especially in a culture of singles vs albums.
There is also the matter of platform and how we’re spending our precious hours being advertised to and manipulated by corporate interest… a larger issue.
Although it’s probably unnecessary I thought it was reasonable to offer an explanation for my sudden change of behavior in not sharing 10+ releases to my story every Friday. It has nothing to do with indifference toward released music, quite the opposite. I need to devote my energy to mastering the records and sharing them all here diplomatically and fairly is feeling less like how I can best serve my purpose.
I appreciate you all endlessly, and the struggle of combining the music and the industry is something we all have to navigate.
