It’s been almost exactly a year since I left Daniel Romualdez to start my own interiors firm. When I left DRA, I’d already lined up my first project: a shingled family compound a dozen steps from Cisco Beach in Nantucket. For a few months, I ferried back and forth to the island with pillows, artwork, bar stools, candle sticks and everthing in between to ensure the family could move in in time for peak season.
When the clients went home at the end of the summer I enlisted
@maxb.photo to document my first project at HB Studio. To keep costs down, I convinced my mom to spend a week there as my "assistant." The shoot was a barebones operation–no stylists or assistants or catering–but Max is a consummate professional, and he got the shots and then some.
A friend forwarded a photo I’d taken during the shoot to
@alevasseur1 . Somehow, she was interested in a young interiors firm that was still getting its footing. Ever since, I’ve been holding my breath until the piece dropped so that I can finally share images of my first solo project.
Thank you Alison and the team at
@archdigest for your encouragement, and to
@davidfoxley for masterfully describing the fun chaos of designing a family compound. I am beyond honored. Thank you to the best collaborators
@vicenteburin and
