in all seriousness, thank you to everyone who made this night — and this show — possible. i wrote this play in an attempt to interrogate an essential question that’s plagued me nearly my whole life: how can the women who love me so deeply, so fiercely, so unapologetically see the world in such a fundamentally different way than i do? never could i have imagined people would not only allow me to indulge in that question but also deeply relate to, find meaning in, and feel seen by it.
