This is Alexander Flood, one of Australia’s commanding beat-masters, possessing a unique and finessed arsenal of groove, power, and expertise on the drums. Through Helpmann Academy’s support in the early stages of his career, he was able to produce his earliest recordings and releases, building a strong portfolio as an artist. It’s a reminder that the right support at the right time can shape not just a project, but an entire career pathway. This is an impact worth discovering. @alexander_flood 🎥: @blackaperture.com.au

“You should just give it a go, because the feeling you get from it is worth more than the money”, Ben Jefferies, Private Banker at @macquariegroup As Ben knows, giving can have as much of an impact on emerging creatives as it can on those who give. It can transform your relationship with the arts, as you see first-hand the difference support can have for creatives at the beginning of their career. Discover this feeling for yourself, as right now your impact can go even further. Thanks to triple-matched funding from the Founding Donors of the Helpmann Future Fund and Creative Australia’s Plus1 program, every $1 you give becomes $3. Give today. Shape tomorrow. I saw a thing recently that mentioned something about the idea that culture is down wind of art. The statement was delivered in a way that it was meant as a sort of hot-take. Like maybe they felt most people feel art is down wind of culture. The debate (if you want to call it that) about the value of art and it's effect on culture seems trivial to say the least. I mean, of course I'm bias. Of course I want to think of art as having inherent value for a society, I believe it both reflects and shapes cultures and its value lays in the mutual exchange. It's the whole "Art imitating life / life imitating art" thing. It's hard to ignore the inseparable relationship between Roman society and its art. They are each as product of the other and have shaped the other in return. "Protect And Serve" 45x60cm Oil on wood panel 2026 @britishschoolatrome @helpmannacademy @accadromania
