A lost 90s gem of Hollywood desperation, STAR TIME plays like the Manson Family gatecrashed David Lynch's Lost Highway. Henry Pinkle is a socially awkward young man whose life revolves around his favorite television show. When that show is suddenly cancelled, he is driven into a deep psychological crisis, convinced that his existence has been erased along with it. Standing on the edge of a rooftop and ready to end it all, he is approached by a mysterious figure named Sam Bones, who talks him down and offers a strange alternative path that promises fame and validation rather than obscurity. Recruited into Sam’s surreal worldview, Henry becomes obsessed with the idea of becoming famous and begins a violent spree while donning a creepy baby mask and chasing stardom in the only way he believes possible. As his actions escalate, the blurred lines between fantasy and reality, celebrity and anonymity, leave him grappling with the very media-driven identity he hoped to achieve. After being out of circulation for decades, this is an incredibly rare chance for London audiences to see Paul Morrissey’s extraordinary MADAME WANG'S. Morrissey began making films with Andy Warhol in the 1960s before going on to redefine American independent film with works like Flesh, Trash and Heat. After a brief period in Rome where he made the horror films Flesh for Frankenstein and Blood for Dracula, he temporarily decamped to California to make Madame Wang’s, his definitive post-Warhol statement. A ramshackle and absurdist satire of Cold War politics and consumer culture set in the punk scene of 1980s Los Angeles, Madame Wang’s is one of the great underseen masterpieces of American cinema. Part of PUNK AT 50 21/4 - Tonight 8.45pm With introduction by filmmaker @mondodraig Courtesy of @vinegarsyndrome Tickets at THENICKEL.co.uk

SUNDAY SCHOOL was a 20-course meal with apéritifs and after-dinner cigarette. Left me punch-drunk and haunted by a Goetic Demon, in the best way. Here’s a few live captures I managed to take along the way. 🕯️ London, last weekend
