The Varda Film Club are happy to announce an extra special screening of THE BEACHES OF AGNÉS featuring a guest appearance by Rosalie Varda, Agnès Varda’s daughter.
Revisiting the beaches from her earlier life, Agnès Varda relives and narrates her life and career through a mirage of imagery and experimentation, utilising her playful approach to explore and appreciate the beauty of film with a joie de vivre. Originally believed to be one of her last films, this auto-portrait documentary explores Varda’s personal philosophy and captures her on her 80th birthday.
This special screening includes an introduction by Rosalie Varda, the daughter of acclaimed filmmaker Agnès Varda.

THE VARDA FILM CLUB ARE HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE FACES PLACES (2017) WITH SPECIAL GUEST ROSALIE VARDA
Agnès Varda teams up with artist and photographer JR to tour rural France, photographing the people they connect with along the way, and creating large-scale murals of their new friends, leaving a lasting impression on them and their communities. It’s not one to be missed on the big screen.
Originally screened at 2017 Cannes Film Festival, this documentary went on to receive critical acclaim, taking home the L’Œil d’or award for best documentary at the festival. It went to gain a nomination from the Academy Awards for Best Documentary.
This special screening includes an introduction by Rosalie Varda, the daughter of acclaimed filmmaker Agnès Varda and producer of FACES PLACES, followed by an Q&A hosted by Bells Kennedy-Compston, the founder of the Varda Film Club.

we're looking for supporting artists for the final chapter of our short film! come and join us for a feel-good gig scene with a live band, shooting on 25 May 2026 (Bank Holiday Monday) in Deptford, SE London. it’ll be a day shoot (wrapping approx. 5pm)!
we're looking for:
- any gender/ethnicity
- playing age 18-30
- people happy to dance and mosh in a small crowd
- prior acting experience is not necessary
we'll be covering travel expenses (up to £8) and providing food on the day.
