Toufique began his career in television and broadcast entertainment, working with major networks and production houses including the BBC, Endemol, MTV UK/Australia, and VICE Canada as a shooting producer-director.
Between 2008 and 2020, he built a strong foundation in on-set production, content planning, and slate development across documentary, music entertainment, and branded/digital content. His credits span projects for MTV UK, MTV Australia, Endemol UK, BBC, BBC Three, YouTube, and Vice Canada.
In 2020, after attending the Camerimage Film Festival in Poland, Toufique realised his long-standing passion for cinematography. Having always been behind the camera in his previous work, he decided to dedicate himself fully to the craft and transitioned into the camera department.
He began his journey in television drama as a camera trainee on Midsomer Murders (Series 22), followed by two years as a kit room technician at S+O Media in West London. Since going freelance, Toufique has worked as a 1st AC and camera operator on numerous short films, and in 2025 he completed his MA in Filmmaking with a specialism in Cinematography.
Now focused on scripted narrative content, music videos, and commercials, Toufique continues to develop his craft with the long-term goal of becoming a camera-operating Director of Photography.
