We are now scheduling artists from February through June 2027.
This residency is dedicated to traditional lithography, offering artists the time, space, and support to fully engage with the process. Lithography is a deeply collaborative printmaking practice, historically used by artists such as Pablo Picasso, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Käthe Kollwitz, and David Hockney—and continues to be a vital medium for contemporary artists today.
Whether your goal is to learn lithography from the ground up, deepen your existing practice, or leave with a finished edition ready for your collectors, this is a space to do it with full support.
Your residency fee includes housing in a modern studio apartment directly behind the print studio. Each apartment has a private bathroom, balcony, desk, wardrobe, and small fridge, so you can settle in and focus on your work. Partners and children are welcome.
You will also get access to the studio and all materials, along with 35 hours per week working one on one with our master printer and assistant.

We were honored and delighted to welcome Reinaldo Gil Zambrano as the first artist in residence at Hello, Print Friend Studios in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Chiang Mai is a vibrant hub of artistic culture set in a tropical paradise. During our residency months, temperatures range from 20°C to 32°C (70°F to 90°F) under sunny skies.
The city’s international airport ensures convenient travel for artists arriving from almost anywhere in the world.
While with us, you’ll have the chance to expand your artistic practice, draw inspiration from golden temples, savor world-renowned cuisine, and discover why Thailand is celebrated as “The Land of Smiles.”
Our residency is equipped with a lithography press (56 x 76 cm) and an etching press (80 x 120 cm). We can produce and print editions of stone and plate lithography, relief prints, as well as drypoint etchings and monotypes.
Adjacent to the studio is an exhibition space (85 square meters). Residents are welcome to propose events in this space.

This week Miranda coming to you from El Barrio Artsspace @elbarriosartspace in New York City, where we recently screened Impresiones de Resistencia: Printmaking in Puerto Rico at the Rafael Tufiño Printmaking Workshop @rafaeltufinoprintmakers
This conversation was recorded on-site, and Miranda was joined by artist Oliver Rios @oriosdesigns a printmaker and filmmaker who documents the stories of the Puerto Rican diaspora in the city. He helped guide this interview, so a big thank you to Oliver for being part of this moment.
Our guest is Nitza Tufiño @nitzatufino an artist, educator, and one of the key figures behind the workshop itself. As the daughter of legendary printmaker Rafael Tufiño, her life and work are deeply rooted in the history of Puerto Rican printmaking and the cultural movement of El Barrio.
In this conversation, Nitza shares what it means to build and sustain a collective space for artists: one grounded in community, education, and cultural memory. We talk about the role of printmaking as a tool for connection and resistance, the importance of creating spaces where people can see themselves reflected, and the responsibility artists have to carry history forward.
This episode is about more than printmaking. It’s about community, resilience, and the power of art to bring people together.
