I’m 54. I remember a quaint old time when everyone agreed Nazis were evil. Not unfashionable or politically incorrect, but evil. People with Nazis in their family history hung their heads in shame at what their fathers did, or their mothers, grandparents, whatever. Their names were a blight, and would make their descendants wince when spoken. Those descendants carried a moral burden, and dreaded any conversations about family history. Imagine the pained expressions on their faces, their exhausted sigh when getting to know someone new and the subject of family comes up.
Now picture your kids’ faces again. Picture them carrying this burden. And *their* kids. And *theirs.* Really picture it, ideally while looking into your kids’ faces.
