What are some of your favorite memories from 2025?
2025 was a test, with both ups and downs; but when I look back at everything that happened it was a pretty good year overall. Starting the year with a rare @nyjets win and @hellogiabibble dancing on the big screen. A second rugby 15s state championship, going back to back. The longest road trip down to Orlando with a trip to Disney and Disney haircut to go with. Lots of time with family and friends, especially those trips antiquing. All culminating with an MTG advent calendar and a wonderful Christmas on the river
How did your decks play out in 2025?
For 2025 I decided to keep track on how my decks played and kept a note on each game; this would allow me to identify if I enjoyed playing a deck and what decks I played the most. I didn’t get in as many games as I wanted this year, but was happy with what I did manage to play. Obviously my go to deck was Jetmir as this is the one I played most in 2025, with some other decks starting to get more play
This is a build off of @mtgfightclub idea of #meandmycommanders and I am hoping to do it again next year
🎄TheMikeMTG Advent Calendar Deck🎄
For my 2025 advent calendar it was my goal to build a deck from the cards and packs that I opened in the advent calendar and only those cards (excluding basic lands). This was not the easiest to do and there were definitely times where I thought would be impossible; but it was a great way to build a deck in a way that not many people normally do. Of course this is a bracket one deck as I have put it together the best I could with cards available
I went with a Selesnya deck as I could put some great cards in it and did the best with what I had. The deck wants to focus on making some tokens, having +1/+1 counters and fighting other creatures. It isn’t the best deck but I know that it will be fun to play

My 2025 advent calendar has come to an end; another year where it has been fun opening many different packs from many different sets. It has been hard trying to put a deck together from these cards; but it has been fun actually looking at the cards and deciding the cards that would make a deck. This has been a fun way to build a deck that I haven’t done before
🎄MTG ADVENT CALENDAR DAY 23🎄
I am reaching the end of this years advent calendar and am excited to work out how to put this deck together from the cards that have been opened. I had to open another pack of Core 2019 because that was the first product that I opened and I was really hoping for a Nicol Bolas; unfortunately you don’t get everything that you want.
One day left and an avatar pack to open tomorrow; hopefully we get a 3 color or more legendary to build this deck around.

I don’t want a lot for this advent calendar; but a three color commander would definitely be nice to fit the colors I am wanting. I have two days left so hopefully I can find something that I can build and people can check out this crazy deck that has been made from the cards that I opened in my packs.

Three packs left in the 2025 MTG Advent Calendar deck building, and I still have no idea who the commander of the deck is going to be. I was hoping for a potential 3 color commander from this deck but unfortunately that did not happen so I am still hoping for a great commander to have. I’m still leaning towards Selesnya with King Darien as the commander.

🎄MTG ADVENT CALENDAR DAY 18🎄
Another throwback for day 18 of my advent calendar with the first set that I played in standard. I was hoping for a shock landing that could potentially inspire me on the deck that I am building from the advent calendar. I really enjoyed playing this set when I started playing and played mono red/Boris and was a great way to learn
🎄MTG ADVENT CALENDAR DAY 17🎄
This was not a game I played or a set that I got many cards from; but I knew it was one that would need to be on my advent calendar due to some of the amazing cards from this set. I was hoping for a Vivi, mainly because I could put it in my newly built Iroh, Grand Lotus deck and it would do a lot of great stuff.
I’m still pushing to build that deck and knew it would never be easy; but the journey on the way is always the best part and seeing the cards that I open and could be placed in the deck

Starting off the second half of the advent calendar with an edge of eternities pack. Hoping for a multicolored legendary from this pack or specifically the infinite guideline station; that would really help with the building of the deck

What are your thoughts on aetherdrift?
For day 13 of the advent calendar I went with a set that it seems that not many people like, so I really wasn’t expecting much and knew it would be an unlucky pack. I’m a big fan of the full art lands from this set and was hoping to get one; but with unlucky number 13 I was not lucky enough to get one.
