👋 Hey friends. A lil note of appreciation to the folks that keep us artists going! I’d like to sing the praises of @ashleapykecreative Larissa Agosti @lagostimusic Tara Nieuwenhuys @voiceandspeech_co , the amazing team at Geelong Arts Centre, incredible agent Ryan Murphy @collectivetalent and my gorgeous home team Dallas, Mum, Ro and Freyla: thanks all for watering this little flower with ideas, support, launchpads, space, funds, foods, tickets, meetings, mentorship, auditions and babysitting. And to YOU (yes, you) for reading and interacting with my goings on.

To our absolute delight, ‘Lara’ has been featured in a write-up about Gippsland International Film Festival (GIFF).
Big thanks to Blake Metcalf-Holt and Aidan Knight, who got to the absolute heart of this piece, AND featured our poster - we couldn’t be more grateful!
Congratulations to the small-but-mighty ‘Lara’ team, and big thanks to Ed, Alana + team at GIFF.
Blake Metcalf-Holt: “Lara was an incredible Australian short film, highlighting the need for love and family in times of grief and self-doubt. The latter was something that connected with me - identifying that even if one isn’t in the place they thought they’d ought to be, it is necessary to lean on those that are around you and will always be if you let them. One line has stuck with me (speaking to the quality of the script): “If I take what I need, I’ll never get what I want.” It’s relatability is palpable, and despite the titular location, could be set in any regional town with any collection of those who don’t take their lives too seriously mixed with individuals with high aspirations. In how effective it is, the runtime could have easily been extended longer.”
Thank you (and congratulations!) to @laradeam for sharing this with us!
