Trinidad is often overshadowed by Tobago on the beach front. Which suits the locals just fine, because they get hundreds of miles of empty pockets of paradise like Grand Riviere, all to themselves.
Just don’t tell the tourists…. 🤫😜

Red Planet.
The deliciously remote Grande Rivière Beach in northeastern Trinidad is the most densely populated leatherback turtle beach on the planet. During nesting season, up to 500 enormous females lumber onto the beach each night to lay their eggs.
Guests at the gorgeous @mtplaisirhotel have the opportunity to join official turtle patrols, checking and documenting the prehistoric giants and their eggs, just as David Attenborough did in Blue Planet 2.
It’s red lights only here, to avoid disorienting the turtles, who can reproduce into their nineties and beyond. Would I recommend? Shell yeah! 🐢🙌🇹🇹

The First Chocolatiers 🍫
Trinidad has been producing some of the world’s richest, most velvety chocolate for centuries. That’s largely thanks to Trinitario cocoa - a naturally occurring island hybrid that’s become one of the world’s most sought after beans.
In Brasso Secco, a remote rainforest village, they still make chocolate the indigenous way. And it tastes as good as it looks. Thanks for setting up the tour @hadcoexperiences . And thanks for the insanely delicious chocolate @brassoseco.community 🙌🙌🙌
