Trinidad changed me. I came here thinking I understood a piece of myself already. Growing up adjacent to Trinbagonian culture — liming in the square with family, eating doubles, drinking Caribs, hearing the accents, the music, the stories — it always felt familiar. But this trip showed me how much deeper it all goes. I discovered the coastlines, the wildlife, the flora and fauna, the energy of the island… and honestly, a lot of myself too. It became something so much bigger than nostalgia. I champion heritage in everything I do, but this experience reminded me that honoring culture also means accepting how much you still have to learn. I was nervous coming here. It was my first time cooking for Trinidadians — using their ingredients, their flavors, their memories — while still filtering it through my own style and perspective. Of course the questions creep into your head: “Am I Trini enough?” “Am I too diluted?” “Will they think I’m disrespecting the culture?” None of those thoughts would ever stop me, but I’d be lying if I said they weren’t there. What I received instead was something I’ll never forget: a welcome that felt like a homecoming. Pride. Love. Warmth. The kind of embrace that makes you feel like the island never forgot you, even while you were still figuring out your place within it. I leave inspired, emotional, hopeful, and deeply grateful. Thank you to @hadcoexperiences for giving my mother and I memories we could have never imagined. Trinidad, thank you for feeding more than just my stomach. 🇹🇹

On World Endangered Species Day, we’re reminded that conservation is not just a concept; it’s a responsibility. The natural environments around us are living, interconnected systems, where every species plays a critical role in maintaining balance and resilience. When species become endangered, it signals a deeper disruption, one that can affect entire ecosystems, livelihoods and the experiences we value. Protecting vulnerable and endangered species is therefore essential, not only for biodiversity, but for the health of our environment and the sustainability of future generations. Today, we stand for awareness, protection and the preservation of our natural spaces, ensuring that these environments and all they support, continue to thrive for years to come. #WorldEndangeredSpeciesDay #Conservation #Protection #Experience #Vulnerable

Lime well spent. From amazing hikes and hidden beaches to incredible seafood and cosy hotels - not to mention perfecting the fine art of liming - Trinidad was an absolutely magnificent experience. Our 35th #AdventureCities shoot, and without doubt one of our best ever. Looking forward to the episode airing on @discovery this autumn! 📸 @sampburrows @luc_alary #trinidadadventures #trinidadvacation #myadventurecity

Today, we celebrate the remarkable 100th birthday of the legendary Sir David Attenborough, a voice for the planet, a champion for wildlife and an inspiration to conservationists around the world. Len Peters of the Grand Riviere Nature Tour Guides Association extends warm birthday wishes and proudly mentions the vast sighting of 343 turtles on the Grand Riviere shores last night. Through decades of storytelling, education and advocacy, Sir David has inspired generations to develop a deeper appreciation for nature and the urgent need to protect it. His work continues to motivate environmental stewards and conservation efforts across the globe. Happy 100th Birthday, Sir David and thank you for reminding us that every species, every ecosystem and every action matters.
