Francis looooves French lessons with Dad, it’s so sweet! He is doing ok, not really sure what is triggering his weird blood tests, but he his a happy and healthy guy for now🥰
My special little guy is facing a scary diagnosis. Francis came to us as a darling baby that someone found eating out of a trash can, he’s retained that spirit a bit and is also the silliest, sweetest little dude that sees Dad as his Best Bud and me as Mommy. It’s so scary to think of him suffering and impossible to see a life without him.
It’s been a while since I’ve done any embroidery, but was moved to participate in @tatterbluelibrary recognition of the victims of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in 1911. Annie was a Russian Jewish immigrant who lived in America for 4 years. I can’t imagine what she went through to find comfort and safety in a new country, only to be abused and discounted as a laboring body. Every stitch that goes into what we wear comes from the hands of real people, who so often have no voice, no protections, no options.

I’ve been picking up and putting down this project for a few years now but can’t bear to add one more stitch! My favorite parts are the snake friends and little blue bow #thistookmefuckinghours #embroidery #dmcthreads
I’ve made so much stuff this year and haven’t posted any of it! Well here’s my last make of 2022, #M7325 from a vintage embroidered tablecloth with linen gauze lining for my mom.
Probably my favorite thing I’ve made, and it’s not even for me! McCalls 7969 made with a $6 vintage sheet from Goodwill. #m7969 #reducereuserecycle #sewingonthecheap
can’t wait for the sunny warm weather to hit and wear this! The Vali Dress by @patternfantastique was a real try of patience. I learned SO much and made a few
mistakes (like not using a cloth on my ironing board with my web interfacing, hence the glue blotches on the inside of the yoke😪) But i’m feeling really proud of the result. Used a double gauze from Mood, so soft and squishy. Cut the hem straight and did not sew in the pockets (next time i will make my own pocket bags, too small and too low, and i have long arms). #validress #summergoth #doublegauze
