It takes a pioneering spirit to look at wilderness and see what could be. We are over the moon to welcome guests to this hallowed corner of the Napa Valley, the original home and winery of pioneer Joe Heitz. Three historic wineries, one new home. Learn more at the link in bio.

A lot has changed in 60 years, but the greatest, most immutable terroirs still announce themselves clear as a bell. In the fall of 1966, Joe Heitz was likely tasting a new wine off the press when he was struck with an epiphany. This prime parcel in the heart of western Oakville—in between what are today known as Harlan Estate and To Kalon—deserved to be bottled on its own. Thus Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon was born: America's first single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

Luminary Napa Valley, a private lifestyle club, was founded by six historic wineries to celebrate the beauty and bounty of our home and the “luminaries” that came before us. Our annual Luminary Harvest Weekend brings this idea to life with like-minded wine connoisseurs who gather for three days of feasting, tasting, and learning, culminating in our legendary La Paulée celebration. A limited number of tickets are available. For more information, email [email protected] or see the link in our bio. We extend a big thanks to our friends at Lexus (@lexususa ) for helping us bring this celebration to life. #lexuspartner #lexususa #lexusculinary #luminarynapavalley

The Napa Valley’s most exclusive and decadent harvest celebration is coming back Labor Day Weekend. In the raucous spirit of Burgundy's La Paulée—a harvest celebration that began in medieval times—Heitz Cellar, Stony Hill, Burgess, Ink Grade, Haynes Vineyard, and Trailside Vineyard will come together on Saturday September 5th to host a special dinner at The Home Ranch at Heitz Cellar. Dinner will be prepared by Top Chef star Shota Nakajima of Seattle. Guests will have the chance to preview the 2022 vintage and enjoy library wines inside the 1898 Stone Cellar. We can't wait to see you there and celebrate together. To learn more or reserve your seat, email [email protected] or see the link in our bio. Thanks to our friends @lexususa for bringing this to life. #lexuspartner #lexususa #lexusculinary

We're so grateful for the ongoing support from world-class, Michelin-starred restaurants that recognize our commitment to classic winemaking. Between Rutherford's 1-star Auberge du Soleil, Sonoma's 2-Star phenomenon, Enclos, and the legendarily wine-savvy (and Bib Gourmand) Sushi Ran in Sausalito, we are on a hot streak with exactly the kinds of places where we love to dine.

Springtime at Heitz finds our vineyards in a vibrant green bloom, growing at a breakneck pace. While our vineyard team monitors every site's progress, you've got a front-row seat in our Salon in St. Helena. We are now accepting reservations through the Spring Season and look forward to welcoming guests. Fun fact: our tasting program is curated by a Master Sommelier who also has the habit of cracking 40-year old bottles on the weekend for a special surprise pour. You can make your reservations on our website, or by emailing [email protected].

Of course Cabernet Sauvignon is a GOAT among grapes for wine. Even before it had traveled as far as it has since the 1976 Paris tasting, it had already gained a Napa Valley accent and style, yet with all the classic trappings of its homeland in Bordeaux: affinity to oak aging and affinity to cellaring. I'm so excited to have Carlton as my guest for this episode of Quench! Details about how to pick up the YouTube live stream, or tickets to join in person if you will be in Napa, are in my bio. We might just drop into your Instagram feed as well, depends on the tech gods. Do they like Cabernet? Sometimes I think tech is amazingly smart and sometimes I think it is not smart enough to know a great wine (show) when it sees it. I know you are though, so I'm excited to see you there! @heitzcellar Original score courtesy of Tim Clott.

It's 1964. Joe and Alice Heitz are looking out the front door of their 1870s-era farmhouse at the old Rossi ghost winery across the way. Their new keys in hand, a sense of exhilaration comes over them, at the possibility that lays ahead for their young winery. We feel the same sense of anticipation as we introduce an entirely new experience here at the end of Taplin Road, coming this month.

A private tour of the gentle slope of Trailside Vineyard is the perfect capstone to your visit to Napa Valley this season. When you book our Rutherford Legacy tasting, you'll be treated to the magic of Rutherford's east side, with a ride in our Lexus LX in an exhilarating 3-hour private tour and tasting. After basking in vineyard views, you'll savor a vertical tasting of our Trailside Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, and get to know this terroir even more intimately—over the horizon of time—in the cool sanctuary of The Salon at Heitz Cellar.

We began our Masterclasses back in 2022 to share in-depth knowledge about Heitz Cellar with our guests and to bring them closer to our winery. To continue this special series, we're hosting a May 17 Library Masterclass with Estate Director and Master Sommelier Erik Elliott, Heitz Cellar Winemaker Brittany Sherwood, and Burgess Winemaker Reid Griggs. Together, they will lead a tasting of six red wines from Heitz Cellar and Burgess, including a deep dive into older vintages. It's no wonder our Masterclass events sell out within days every year.
