The moth is a creature I’ve been fascinated with since my childhood, as they are attracted to the flame even though the darkness is safer. I’m inspired by the aura of the moth, mysterious and haunting. The mechanisms of their wings, their flutter, light and texture led me on a journey that culminates in MOTTEN, a presentation of drawings, stencil prints and three dimensional structures that have emerged during the spring and summer of this year. Opening this Saturday, Sept 13th @longyeargallery and running through Oct 13th. Opening reception Saturday from 3-6
Happy New Year to all of you!
I am thrilled to announce that I will be hosting a workshop with my daughter Ulla Warchol in collaboration with @mainemedia in the Catskills in June of 2023.
Over the course of a weekend, we will visit my Catskills studio, have a hands-on workshop, share meals and thoughts and explore structure and material.
Registration is now open via the link in my bio. Spaces are limited!
***UPDATE: The workshop is sold out! Thank you all so much for your interest, wonderful comments, and for signing up!
About the workshop:
MOUNTAINS + VALLEYS
June 2 - 4, 2023
The interaction of mountain and valley folds is essential to the transformation of the flat surface into a three-dimensional structure. With an introduction that is meant to stimulate an affinity for the fold, we’ll experiment with papers, techniques, and structures covered in our book, “The Art of the Fold”, as well as categories of folds that continue to inspire us.
Please note that accommodation is to be booked separately at the Belleayre lodge. Instructions as to where to book are listed on the Maine Media Workshops + College website linked in my bio. We encourage you to register before January 8th for a lower accommodation rate!
We look forward to welcoming you!!

Gardens to Go, from a series of seven. The idea for these came to me when I was playing around with the leftovers from previous work.
The way they could be layered and juxtaposed fascinated me. These are the moments I enjoy most when I feel free to experiment.
Dreaming of spring and the garden. Excited to be in this exhibition, Hidden Gardens, with good friends and fellow artists of Ad Hoc projects, opening tomorrow @1053maingallery through March 20
