Surprise!!! Nalu Kava Bar (PDX) has my Brewess Ginger Honeybrew Jun ON TAP!!!
@brewessunderground
as many of you know, for over twenty years I have brewed with herbs, and studied the origins of fermented alcoholic herbal brews around the world. I co-founded an herbal Honeybrew jun and artisanal fermentation company circa 2013,
@iggysaliveandcultured , developing all the Honeybrew recipes, the branding, Honeybrew logo (pictured here), built the brewhouse team, threw the warehouse parties, and more. I left in 2018, they’ve continued on with great heart and care but just shut their doors for good, a bittersweet end of an era! To celebrate I am offering a batch of my Old World Ginger Honeybrew on tap at
@nalu_kava … super smooth velvety texture, not too sweet, with a satisfying ginger bite. 100% honey brewed.
I don’t really brew Jun anymore - or drink it - I had more than my fair share when founding the company!!
But — a special brew, and won’t come around again. So tap it. It’s as complex as a dry herbal mead but w/o the alcohol, inspired by old school original Ginger Beers of England and Europe.
Bring a growler! I’ll see you there!
Honestly, Nalu Kava Bar is perhaps my favorite night spot in this town… it’s got a vibe. so down to earth, candlelit low light chilling, so many books to read, cards to pull, an eclectic crew of weirdos…
Now
@brewessunderground is my own herbal brewing endeavor— so be sure to follow me there!! Brewess is part brew club where I host ritual soirées with the wheel of the year, craft and bottle herbal meads (honey wines) and vermouth & amaro inspired fortified herbal mead aperitifs & digistifs. I also craft super small batch Brewess Bitters, botanical sparkling waters & other small batch medicinas… stay tuned, I’m about to release my next batch of bitters!!!
