She who unfolds and blossoms in her own intelligent timing. Self love is not something that we can go seeking for In the depth of another. It is only in the cultivation of our own true beauty and devotion, do we earn and reunite with the birthright to our own medicinal hearts and hands. No one can take away the course of creation that flows from within. We cannot thrive without our own medicine. Sometimes it takes facing our biggest fears to tend and initiate a relationship with it. In the Moonlight by the breath of a honeysuckle blossom, We can reorganize into more tangible shapes of the love we came into this world with. Spring is a season… But it is also a time in our lives that show us who we really are. What the seeds have sewn from the inside. When we are ready to blossom, it truly comes from all the tending and refining that pushed us up against cliff sides of time.

Tattoos and Chinese medicine🪡
Just wanted to create a post that dives a little deeper into how I work with my study in Chinese medicine to map designs for placement on the body.
This piece was inspired by themes of the pericardium, which is also known as the heart protector. In Chinese medicine The pericardium is the place that holds our emotional boundaries. This is often where our learned patterns in relationship are expressed. Where we learn to protect, shield, invite in or push away to keep our hearts safe and connected. Our pericardium is very intelligent and holds some of our most intimate patterns created with ourselves and others.
Organ maps in Chinese medicine are holographic representations of how our organ system have qualities, elemental properties, emotions, flavors and patterns of expression in the body.
Chinese medicine uses these maps for diagnosis and treatment… but is also a way of identifying and understanding relationships in the body and the universe.
The stories we carry and our bodies are often asking for acknowledgment and when they speak up, it may be because they are ready to receive a new pattern, shift or point of integration. I work with this deeper layer of embodied design to see the holographic map in your unique being. Working with needles and art allows me to tap into these energy centers and support my clients and their bodies, to tell a meaningful resonant story that reflects the beauty and evolution of what it means to be in a body… and in particular have deep relationship with our own bodies. Chinese medicine is one aspect and map I work with to explore medicinal adornments. I love the beauty and poetry that emerges from bringing these two lineages together.

The winter sun and sister wind keep me awake as I walk on crushed oak leaves. It’s been a practice every other day to walk and sing. Sing myself back into threads of life. Sing myself from the center into my periphery, into my ancestry into nonsense into poetry into an all consuming delightful void of pure acceptance and presence. Amongst my holy trees, they witness me. I am very isolated this winter but very deep in a meditation on freedom. Lately what has been shown to me is that freedom is not something you seek. It’s something you are… it is a natural state that comes from the tension of connection. Not dissociation or escapism. At the roots and feet of the earth I listen and keep this thread weaving through the edge of my belief systems… where did I replace connection for escapism? How did that serve me in order to create safety? Is this my story or a survival heirloom handed to me? If it is safe enough now… what would want to come through me?
As I walk in circles, seasons, cycles and creativity…I am excited to be in the darkness of answers and live in this question. Would love to hear any one else’s thoughts on freedom if they have any.

Many years ago Cailen and I watered a seed of intention. The flow of ink, prayer and ritual gave birth to a process of becoming. Secretly these waters swirled and spiraled into the roots of an inner growing tree. Kidney qi nourishing liver/gallbladder. Flowing waters into the wood that grows flexibility, integrity and structure of freedom. Honoring your strength, honoring the unique and deep capacity of your soul. Honoring the beauty, the compassion and power you hold. May your infinite waters of love and depth forever nourish the wise tree of your being.

Returning from the Amazon….
On my last days with my plant friends, I cried tears of deep longing. In the soil, at the base of trees, woven into leaves and songs of the jungle. I cried tears of love and tears of loss. For no one, not for myself, but for the presence of wildness and my plant teachers that I have the privilege to sit beneath and commune with. It’s been some years of returning to their home and sitting in their temples… every time I come it gets harder to leave and I realized this time that most people do not remember what it’s like to weep in love with nature. Most people on this planet have forgotten this very unique grief of belonging, returning and missing the preciousness of our relations in the soil. I am grateful for my Shipibo family and their incredible generosity with sharing their wisdom and ancient relationships with the plants of their people. The song lines of my teachers go far back into the roots of time. They have been voices for the trees, petals and leaves for as long as their people and their people’s people have been alive. I am a small droplet of water in this ocean of song. And all I want to do is listen…
Thank you to my most profound plantcestors and jungle familia. I am beyond grateful to all that has made it possible for me to return, belong and fall in love with the earth and her ways over and over again.
