i’m incredibly behind on cover reveals 🙈 here’s a sweet one that pubs next month that i loved working on! design and art direction for @jaleighjohnson23 and @acebookspub with beautiful illustration by @vitkovskaya_art . 🍓🌱✨ big thanks to Kateryna for being so lovely to work with!
a week of pink trees and old friends in NYC, a long-overdue office visit to see the Penguins, then off to Tampa for more time with friends and a magical Florence + The Machine show. after all the good food, drinks, and hugs, Meg and I celebrated four years of marriage and nine years together. feeling very lucky, very loved, and very grateful. 🩷🌸✨
design and art direction for @acebookspub and @kategoldenauthor , with beautiful illustration by the lovely @rakasademon 💙 i’ve seen the printed cover with foil and it’s A++ 😮💨
so excited to share this one! art direction and edge design for @berkleypub and @sangumandanna , with a gorgeous cover design by @clairicegifford . i kept tweaking the proofs for this one until the inks and foil were *just right* and i’m really proud of how it turned out in the end. 💜 swipe for a shiny foil peek 👀✨
cover design and art direction for @rachelharrisonsghost and @berkleypub , with another wonderful illustration by @galactixy_illustrations 🩵🔪🩸for a little behind the scenes peek, swipe to see my initial concept sketch. i’m a terrible illustrator but it never fails to impress me how a talented artist like Andreea can take a concept sketch like this and morph it into actual perfection! this cover is a great example of how deeply collaborative the process of designing a book cover can be; people often don’t realize how many hands are involved. Rachel chose the final background color (we started with a dark purple) and I had fun developing and designing the overall glitch effect applied to the final art. teamwork makes the dream work! ✨
so excited to finally share one of the many deluxe projects i’ve been cooking up behind the scenes at @acebookspub ! i’m beyond grateful to the lovely and talented @rosdottir for her incredible illustration on this. Fen absolutely knocked this out of the park from the very first sketch. art direction and design by me. 🗡️🩷✨
2025… what a rollercoaster. A lot of pinch-me, is-this-real-life moments: We purchased land to start building a house next year (we’ve been working so hard the last few years to save for this and it feels surreal to see our hard work finally paying off). We had a magical trip full of wisteria in England in April and travelled through autumnal landscapes in Scotland in October. I flew first class for the first time (after years of patiently saving up miles). Work-wise, I collaborated this year with so many incredibly talented artists and had three covers hit the New York Times list (and so many on the USA Today list, too—so proud of our authors!). I celebrated my 15th anniversary at Penguin (what is time???). I shared meals and laughs with close friends, enjoyed moments of magic in nature, and spent so much (but also not nearly enough) time snuggling our two giant floof cats. There were a lot of hard things about this year as well (stress! anxiety! spooky health scares! the garbage state of the world! impossible deadlines! the rise of AI!), and I’m grateful for the support that helped me through it. Happy New Year, friends and family. I hope this next year brings you peace, kindness and love. 🤍
sneaking in a few more covers before the new year! art direction and design for @acebookspub and @keshewrites , with beautiful cover art by @klimtsonian . out may 2026. 💙🌿✨
