Constantly pursuing self-improvement can feel exhausting! Here are 3 simple ways to ease the pressure. 💚 1️⃣ Prioritise what matters to you 💚 What works for one person might not work for you. Let what feels good guide you, not trends. Start small, take it one step at a time, and rest when you need. Your progress doesn’t have to be perfect or constant. 2️⃣Make room for rest 💤 Taking a break doesn’t mean you’re falling behind. Even a short pause, practicing a calming or communal activity, can help your mind and body reset. 3️⃣ Focus on small wins 🏆 You don’t have to do everything perfectly, or all at once. Notice and celebrate the little things you manage each day, even if they feel small. Over time, these small steps add up, and your progress becomes something to feel proud of, not pressured by. Here’s a look at some of the big things our centres have been up to recently! 🌊Salty Sessions - @headspace_shellharbourandkiama @headspace_wollongong : Delivered in partnership with @onewaveisallittakes , Salty Sessions is a collaborative wellbeing program supporting young people and supportive adults, including teachers, clinicians, and youth workers, to start their day by connecting with the ocean, their community and their mental health, in a relaxed and meaningful way. It’s quickly become a positive and energising weekly highlight for all involved, grounded in a simple message; 'Wherever you go, come as you are.’ 🌱Unplugged - @headspaceesp : headspace Esperance recently launched Unplugged, a group that invites young people to step away from technology and spend time outdoors. It creates space to connect with others, interact with animals, and explore the world around them in a calm and supportive environment. 🌈Pride of the Hills - @headspace_mtbarker : headspace Mount Barker was Proud to support Pride of the Hills, a community event celebrating LGBTQIA+ pride, inclusion and visibility. During the event, headspace Mount Barker hosted a quiet zone, giving young people a space to take a break, before rejoining the celebration. 📸YAC Magazine - @headspacesouthport : A resource written by youth for youth. The Youth Advisory Councial at headspace Southport created a magazine to amplify young voices and destigmatise conversations around mental health, whilst shining light on issues young people face today.

If trauma is part of your story, you might feel like you’ve had to be strong in ways other people don’t always see. 💛 What is trauma? A lasting response to a distressing experience that can impact how you feel, think and cope. It’s shaped by what happened, how you experienced it, and the impact it’s had on your life. There’s no “right” way to respond and everyone's experience is different. How can it show up? 👀 💥 panic, anger or nightmares 🧊 numbness, disconnection or distrust 😔 shame, guilt or avoidance 😴 changes to sleep or physical health What can healing look like? 🌱 🤝 connecting with people, culture, community or faith 🧘 grounding routines and self-care 🎨 movement or creative expression 🗣️ therapy Setbacks are normal. Healing isn’t linear. But over time, it’s possible to feel stronger, calmer and more like yourself again. You are more than what happened to you. 💛 Want to learn more about trauma and finding your way through it? Check out the link in our bio. 🔗

For many First Nations peoples, conducting or receiving a Welcome to Country is an important cultural practice that has been maintained by First Nations people for thousands of years. A Welcome to Country is an important reminder that we all live on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lands and is a mark of respect for Country, Elders, Traditional Owners and Culture. Here at headspace, we remain committed to supporting the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and to creating spaces where culture is recognised, respected and valued. We know that a strong sense of identity, Culture and belonging is central to social and emotional wellbeing. When Culture is not respected, it can have a deep impact on how young people see themselves and their place in the world. To any First Nations young people who feel hurt, frustrated, upset or affected by the booing during the Welcome to Country at some ANZAC Day services, we see you. Your Culture is something to be proud of, and it deserves to be respected. If you or anyone you know needs support or someone to yarn with, you can always call 13YARN or Lifeline for crisis support, or reach out to headspace via our link in bio.
