Walked through our old stomping grounds today. We've had a craving for Lee Ho Fook for a while. We used to have it for lunch at least twice a month when we worked in Cultural Plaza. Major itch scratched today.

Our Versailles tour guide urged us strongly to visit @cedricgroletopera . If we missed this interaction, we never would have experienced it.
There were a variety of tarts available. We chose the chestnut and the hazelnut. Although we weren't expecting savories, nobody could pass up those sandwiches. That sandwich was like the best ham & cheese. With a cheese spread, thin slices of firm cheese and truffles. David loved it. Wolfed most of it and insisted on saving the last bit for later.
Flavor for both tarts was on point but we liked the Chestnut better. It was lighter and had jam along with the chestnut. We sat in our hotel lobby and they brought us a tasty cocktail made with raspberry, rose, and champagne.
The most impressive piece was the Vanilla Bean. This was the most intensely vanilla dessert we've ever had. Vanilla mousse within a thin shell. I think the outside was brushed with vanilla bean paste. You could actually feel the grit of the bean as you ate. It tasted indulgent.
If you follow @cedricgrolet you'll find that he likes to make desserts that look exactly like the ingredient showcased. Based on his videos, we were hoping to try his Mango or Orange desserts. The Vanilla Bean was available today and it was still good. Everything we had was well worth the 45 minute wait in the cold.
