Introducing the first* novel about abortion in post-Roe America: WE DANCE UPON DEMONS.
With an incredible cover by the ONE the ONLY Maria Qamar / @hatecopy — the book is basically an art print.
WE DANCE UPON DEMONS is about abortion, choice, depression, dance, demons, AND it’s funny (according to my sister, the arbiter of humor). It’s about looking at the cost of fighting the good fight, wanting to give up, and fighting anyways. And I’ll be donating 10% of all royalties made in the first year (even if I never earn out) to abortion funds. So please consider preordering to help this book, and help fuel the fight.
*by my count this is the first novel, but do tell me if I’m wrong. Since Roe fell, there has been plenty of nonfiction on the topic. And there have been historical and dystopian novels about reproductive justice. As far as I can tell, there’s been nothing set in the real world about the actual dystopia women are facing, and I aim to change that.

👁️COLONIALISM STILL WATCHES FROM THE ROOFTOPS.👁️
MY MURAL ON SOUTH ASIAN SOLIDARITY GOT OVERSHADOWED THIS WEEK, LITERALLY, BY SNIPERS DURING THE KING'S VISIT TO CANADA. ANYONE WRITING A HISTORY TEXTBOOK LMK.
📸 Two snipers stand guard above my installation SAME TO SAME at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, meant to depict South Asian solidarity, womanhood, resilience and joy, during the royal visit to Canada. How ironic.
Thank you @iamtracyhyatt for the photos.
