I’ve finished the first trial headpiece using my gorgeous new block from @hatblockmaker - I love it 💕. It’s an absolute dream to block and I’ve got so many ideas for creations! I have started with an elegant classic bow detailing to the rear and some pretty pearls on a beautiful orchid pink sinamay from @randallribbons.1918 . I can wait to use it again!

When I came runner up in the Queens Diamond Jubilee hat competition I won blocks from @hatblockmaker - I was just a newbie to millinery and had a very small collection so choosing was difficult. I can now reveal a bespoke mother of the bride headpiece I made for the wedding today. Sinamay base, dyed to suit dress, with dyed petersham ribbon edging. Decorated with a halo of handmade and dyed satin flowers.
