This week’s quick (and free) tutorial is how to wire quills for a fantastic and dramatic effect within your millinery. Wiring makes the quill a moveable feature.
It finishes the quill to a beautiful couture standard and can be used in many ways - maybe a neck piece, wrapped to create a snakelike effect going up the arm… the options are endless with this beautiful finishing technique. Let me know when you have had a go x J

Two completely different neutrals finished with a matching trim. This beadwork I purchased in New York years ago and she has been waiting for the right moment to shine. One is on this pearl coloured sharp fedora synching in the bow and the rest is on this natural straw bandeau.
Sharp fedora $625
Beaded bandeau $325
Sharp fedora in Ivory with vintage diamanté brooches $645. So cool is this ivory parisisol fedora on my master block. She’s got all the moves and a hint of wide black veiling with antique brooches for just the right hint of glam.
For those of you asking for cream/ivory here they are. From vintage diamanté brooches, pearls, vintage braid to bows there is something for everyone. Being uploaded to the website as you read this x J
Perfect periwinkle pork pie $475 such am awesome colour that I only had one of. So kept her slick and simple with a fine rolled inner detail that tapers off into flicked ends.
Julie’s Royal Ascot custom classic. The perfect piece to travel with. Compact, elegant, Easy wearing and then perfect for Oaks day here for Spring Carnival

For the love of fringing! When I made this hat yesterday I thought I also had to pull out this skirt to see if it was too much together. It’s not haha
I haven’t purchased from @asos in years but this came up in my feed somehow (texture prpbably) and had to be mine. Best way of adding colour is via a fringes rainbow.
Another vintage braided beauty. This pink is just heaven and the texture speaks volumes. The off cut from the braid has become the wrap for the wired bow.
