Haru Project featured in this week’s Monocle Weekend Edition!
Monocle is a global magazine covering business, design, culture and international affairs.
In this week’s edition, Haru Project was introduced as a brand putting Korean soju on Germany’s drinking map. The story focused on our nuruk-based approach to soju making and our reinterpretation of Korean rice spirits in Germany.
It also featured Haru Soju JANG, our collaboration with Berlin cocktail bar @hellomrsusan built around artisan gochujang from Sunchang.

On the last night of December, we prepared gently warmed soju.
In Korea, there has long been a tradition of drinking special seasonal spirits around the New Year to ward off bad luck and to wish for health and good fortune.
Among them are Chobaekju and Dosoju, drinks made with natural ingredients like pine needles and herbal elements, carrying meanings of protection, warmth, and a hopeful new beginning.
Remembering that spirit today, we end the year with a warm drink in hand.
