We don’t see things the exact same way, and that’s kind of the point. We notice different details, think about things a little differently, and that usually leads to a better mix by the end of a shoot. There’s always something happening, so having two of us there keeps things moving without overthinking it. We both know what we’re doing, trust each other, and adjust in real time depending on what’s needed. We’ve built this in a way that works for us, and it shows in how we work together.

Most of what we shoot is on our cameras, but we’re still grabbing stuff on our phones all the time too. There’s a place for both. The more polished photos give you something consistent to fall back on, and the iPhone shots keep things current and a little more in the moment. When you mix the two, your content feels less forced and a lot easier to keep up with.

Events are always a little chaotic in the best way. You’ve got music going, people moving, everyone in their own lane, and we’re just working through it with a camera trying not to miss the good stuff. Half the time we’re talking to people, the other half we’re shooting, and somehow it all comes together by the end of the night.

If you’ve been around The Void for a while, you already know Courtney. She’s the one hosting book club, planning bookish events, and pulling her truck up to markets with stacks of dark romance in the back. She’s been showing up consistently and building something that people actually want to be part of. Now she’s here more regularly. Flourish Bookstore has its own spot inside The Void, so if you’ve attended something she’s hosted or found her at a market, you don’t have to wait for the next one to see her again. Follow along for her store hours and stop in when she’s open.

You don’t need a storefront to take your branding seriously. A lot of the people we work with are building things without a brick and mortar & they still deserve content that looks just as put together. On-site shoots give you the flexibility to create something that actually fits your business, wherever that is.

Studio shoots always end up being a mix of having a plan and figuring it out as we go. We usually come in with an idea of what we want, but once we’re in the space and things start moving, it shifts a little. Even in a more controlled space, there’s still a lot of room to collaborate, try things, and create something that feels a little different from your everyday content. It’s a good way to switch things up and give your brand a different look without overcomplicating it.

The Atrium is one of those spaces we built to be flexible from the start. We had makers and creatives in mind — people who needed a place to sit down, think, meet, create, and actually get work done without it feeling stiff or overdesigned. Since then, it’s held workshops, podcasts, client meetings, team conversations, brand launches, headshots, and a lot of in-between moments that don’t really fit into one category. That was always the goal. A space that can shift depending on what you need it for without overcomplicating it. If you’ve been looking for something like that, it’s here. ✦ Model: @swizzlestick.mobilebar ✦ Photo: @hartlesscreative ✦ Studio: @thevoid_vb

Getting to know our clients on a real level makes a difference for us. It’s easier to come up with ideas, see things a little differently, or even just know what would actually make sense for you and your brand when we’ve had those conversations. Sometimes that turns into us randomly having an idea and reaching out - hat’s actually how this shoot came together. It’s not always you coming to us with a plan. Sometimes we’re seeing it before you do & wanting to make it come to life.

Introducing Danielle, owner of Sky’s The Limit Yoga, to The Void. What started as a simple conversation about possibly hosting a few classes in the garage turned into something much bigger than we expected. That’s typically how things happen here. Nothing forced, nothing overly planned - just the right people crossing paths at the right time. Danielle is opening her third location here, The Earth Studio, and we’re really excited to have her bring this into the space. The garage is about to take on a whole new use, and if you’ve been in there before, you know it’s going to feel completely different in the best way. Join her this Saturday, May 2nd, for her grand opening launch. We can’t wait for you to experience it. ✦ Model: @thecaffeinatedyogico ✦ Photo: @hartlesscreative ✦ Studio: @thevoid_vb

Content doesn’t have to be this whole production. If you’re only waiting for something big to post, you’ll probably end up not posting much at all. Most brands grow off of the everyday stuff. What you’re working on, what your day looks like, what’s happening behind the scenes. ✦ Morning: opening up, setting up your space, first coffee, getting ready for the day ✦ Midday: work in progress, clients coming in, orders being packed, behind the scenes ✦ In between: details, your setup, lunch ✦ End of day: cleaning up, closing out, a quick recap of what got done It might feel small to you, but it’s not small to the people following along.
