It’s @bafta weekend baby so a long overdue grid update… If someone told me when @sirmstyli @dannykenny89 and I first met to start working on @gwedofficial for its first season that it would be nominated for @bafta I’d have thought it was a dream. The success of this show is testament to the importance of giving new talent (infront and behind the camera) a platform. Spearheaded by the brilliant and visionary @sirmstyli and @nanaarmitage Working class talent and voices are at the heart of our show. For 5 out of our 7 younger core cast it was their first ever time in front of a camera and their first professional job! There’re something in the water up in Liverpool I tell ya! For it to be the most successful launch of a comedy across all @itv platforms in 4 years was astounding and this @bafta nomination is the cherry on the already deliciously baked cake. Season 2’s last 5th and final ep will be screened tonight on ITV2 and steaming for the foreseeable on @itvxofficial Don’t worry Season 3 already in the works!! This will forever have a special place in my heart. I’m forever thankful to @sirmstyli for taking me on this journey and leading with such vision and passion. @dannykenny89 brilliant brain and scripts making us all lol at every page turn. From the start we have been champions of new talent and the 2nd season is no different. We have a host of wonderful new cast members who have joined the G’wed family effortlessly, for many, their first tv credit. Direction on S2 by the brilliant @chloe.m.english who also wrote on S2. What a powerhouse, her first time directing and writing for TV your talent and ability floors me this is just the beginning. To our brilliant retuning cast there are never enough words for you all. Your growth and talent continues to astound me. G’WED LADS!
