This was one of the most unique wedding ceremonies we’ve ever filmed! A ceremony in the round, crafted completely from scratch inside an empty space, with beautiful red carpeting and drapes, and the couple’s own signature scent infused throughout the space for guests to enjoy. Fifty years ago, my parents eloped on this little red bridge in the Japanese Gardens at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens @bbgardens Just a few friends, a lot of love, and no idea what the next five decades would bring. When I was in Birmingham last week speaking for the @alwedpros group, I couldn’t resist taking a little “side quest” to visit the bridge. Standing there felt like a full-circle moment, a reminder that real marriage isn’t just the pretty parts. It’s choosing each other through the great days and the not-so-great ones, and finding beauty in both. That’s what I think about every time I plan a wedding: not just the day itself, but the marriage that follows. My ideal couples are the ones who understand that, too: the ones who want a wedding that feels like them, but also a foundation for everything that comes next. Here’s to my parents ✨50 years strong✨ and to every couple building something just as lasting. ❤️
