In this video we will cover the basics of afterlife assignment as well as help guide you through the process of karmic judgment! I created this short film for the @runwayapp Artificial Intelligence Film Festival 2024. I set out to use as many AI techniques as possible to try and teach myself how to incorporate them into a plausible workflow. I developed this grainy treatment in AE for the footage to give it a hazy, old memory type of feel. I used Runway and Midjourney to create most of the footage, the exceptions being the motion graphics and the final shot during the credits. I used Runway's AI voice simulator for the voice over, and AI music software @suno_ai_ to craft some of the score. ChatGPT helped with the script, and I also used AI tools for the 3D portion of the footage. I tried out a software from @blockadelabs called Skybox to create HDRIs which I rendered in Cinema4D as the backgrounds for certain clips. Set in the eerie, silent world beneath the ocean's surface, ‘Crystal Abyss: Secrets of the Deep’ takes us on a journey to meet the many creatures that may or may not live in the darkest parts of the ocean. Some are cute, others a bit creepy, but all are worth your attention! 🐙 I thuroughly enjoyed incorporating AI footage with my 3D work for this project. I liked trying to blend both my renders and the footage I created using @runwayapp into one cohesive film. Also, using AI to ideate sometimes felt as surprising and unexpected as deep sea life! I had a blast making these shots come alive in AE 😀 This film serves as a tribute to the boundless marvels of the ocean. It is a homage to the ocean's role as Earth's last great frontier, a realm that continues to captivate our imaginations and challenge our understanding of life in all its forms. Co-producing with @utopai_studios , Emily Switzer presents: CELLS IN LOVE. I had a lot of fun with this one! I created this short animation using Utopai's PAI, an A.I video generator designed specifically with story telling in mind. Once I settled on my concept and style, I wrote out story beats that PAI turned into a script, and from there we were off to the races. It first generated keyframes before creating shots from the keyframes, and even suggested some additional B-roll. I like having the ability to change my mind, so seeing all my videos laid out in a 'history' tab which I can go in and edit is an extra bonus haha. Overall it was a very film-maker friendly process imo. I love the self contained beauty of the microscopic realm. So weird and abstract already. Like what do you mean we're all made up of these living building blocks with their own minds?! Most people think of a large and very divided (compound) leaf, but in fact many fern species, like the American Hart’s-Tongue Fern, have undivided (simple) leaves (fronds)." The second time I ever did live visuals for a musical event, and I loved it! Extra thanks to @ted_kennedy of @frequencies_ fame, who invited me to create something special for his EP release earlier in October. This was the result! I generated videos of bouquets exploding into flames in @dreamina_ai , then I took everything into @touchdesigner where I used the video's depth maps to create the particles. Commemorating my 300th post on IG with this self portrait. Look at me Ma, I brought my own skeleton. 💀👻 I've been itching to make this for a while. I really just wanted to see a skeleton walking around in my clothes. I thought it'd be cool to see a big variety of backgrounds in different styles too. I decided to try and tackle it in A.I to try and make sense of the tools in a 3D pipeline. My method was to generate a very basic render, and then use it as an input video for style transfer. I would get that first version from A.I, then swap the original playblast version for it, and then do it again and again until the A.I had essentially cannibalized itself enough to give me some interesting results. I used @runwayapp for that part! Took the animation into @touchdesigner to create the swirling particles clip. Swipe to see my network set up and a playblast from inside @substance3dart painter which i used for the outfit. Animated the skeleton with @adobe Mixamo, @maxonvfx C4D/ Redshift for final animation and rendering. Outfit created in @itsclo3d , textures generated in Substance. Final edit in Aftereffects.
