What actually happens at your first Women's, Men's a& Pelvic Health Physio appointment?
(Spoiler: we’ll be using words you probably don’t often hear in 'polite' company... We say vulva, vagina, anus, wee, and poo more times a day than we can count - and we do so proudly)
Step 1: A deep dive chat about your bladder, bowel, sex life + goals. This is your time to be heard (and not judged). Bring all the awkward bits—we’ve heard it all, and nothing phases us.
Step 2: We assess gently - usually either with ultrasound and/or internal exam—only if you're comfortable.
An internal exam is gentle, informed, and never done without full consent.
Step 3: We discuss findings and begin to build your personalised plan - inclusive of practical strategies.
You’ll leave with a clear idea of what to focus on, when we’ll catch up next, and maybe a few cheeky homework tasks for your bits.

Pelvic floor exercises are everywhere, right?
And yep—they can help. But they’re not a magic fix.
If you’ve been squeezing faithfully but still feeling off—leaking, heavy, uncomfortable—you’re not doing it wrong.
You’re just being given one tiny piece of the puzzle.
Because real pelvic health care looks at all of it:
✔️ How you move
✔️ How you poo
✔️ Your stress, your sleep, your cycle
✔️ What you’re lifting (physically and emotionally)
Let’s work out what’s actually going on, together.
Your bits will thank you.

Check in with your hydration.
If your wee is pale, you’re going 4-7x per day, and you’re not constantly thirsty—you’re probably doing alright.
But if your bladder’s in overdrive or you still feel off despite drinking a good amount of water… there’s likely more to it.
It’s not just about how much you drink—it’s about how well your body’s absorbing and using it.
And yep—pelvic health plays a role too.
If things feel a bit out of whack, I can help figure out why.

Is it normal to wake up and wee during the night?
Short answer: sometimes!
Waking once a night can be totally fine, especially if you’ve had a cup of tea before bed or if your hormones are shifting.
But if you’re up multiple times, struggling to get back to sleep, or feeling like your bladder has taken over your nights—it’s worth looking into.
Constipation, stress, irritation, fluid habits… they can all mess with your overnight bladder signals. And yep, it can be improved with the right support.
If you're tired of letting your bladder control your sleep, give me a buzz (link in bio) and let's figure it out together.

Not to be dramatic… but your poo habits really do matter.
If you’re putting off that first urge to go—because life’s busy, you're working, the kids are loud, or you’re mid-scroll—you might be making things tougher than they need to be. Literally.
Here’s what I want you to know:
– Your bowels and bladder affect each other
– Straining messes with your pelvic organs
– And regular, easy poos are a big part of feeling good in your body
Bowel health doesn’t have to be awkward.
And if things aren’t flowing (or flowing way too much), you’re not alone—and there’s heaps we can do.

Toilet refusal isn't about being difficult. It's usually about fear, discomfort or sensory overload.
If your small human won't sit on the toilet to poo - you're not alone...And you're definitely not failing as a parent.
Toilet training is a big step.
And for some kids it takes a bit more time, support and understanding to feel safe. That might mean adjusting the toilet setup, being mindful of sensory needs, or gently working through past constipation or pain.
The good news? We can work through it - without shame or stress.

“Just do your squeezes.”
“Just rest.”
“Just wait it out.”
Sound familiar?
Pelvic health deserves more than “just” anything.
If we’re not looking at your stress, sleep, gut health, movement, hormones, and mental load—we’re missing the bigger picture. Entirely.
Squeezes can help.
But they can’t carry you through postpartum, peri, pain, or pressure alone.
You deserve care that’s holistic, realistic, and actually fits your life.
